The probability of finding a shiny Pokémon is 1 in every 8192, 🥃1 in 4096 in the later generations. Because of this,🐼 they're highly coveted among long time trainers. When horde battles were introduced it made finding one a little easier, but for most trainers, it takes a long time to come across a single shiny Pokémon. If you run into one, you need to take big precautions when trying to catch it, because you may not see one again for while.

Just like normal designs, there are some shiny Pokémon that look better than others, and some that fall flat. If you're lucky, you'll run into a shiny that looks even cooler than the original. But there's jꩲust as big a chance that you run into one of the hundreds of duds that are roaming around in the 🦄wild.

10 ♛ COOLER: UMBREON

The only change on this shiny is the color of the markings on Umbreon's otherwise midnigh🐬t black body. The original yellow markings are cool, but the light bl💙ue ones just seem so much better as an accent on a Dark-type Pokémon. They almost look like the blue glow off of a moon.

On top of looking cool, Umbreon is one of the best defensive Pokémon you can have on your team. It has massive defense and special♑ defense stats and being a Dark-type, it only has three weaknesses.

9 🔴 WORSE: SABLEYE

Sableye is meant to be a spooky Pokémon. That's why the deep purple body with bright red gemstones is such a great deꦬsign. The two main elements of the Pokémon, the body and eyes, are a steep contrast to each other, which is what gives Sableye it's creꦅepy look.

The shiny design does away with this by making Sa♔bleye 🎃look like it was touched by King Midas. The foreboding red gems are replaced with yellow eyes and a green chest gem that looks like a piece of candy rather than a rare stone.

8 🍎 COOLER: CHARIZARD

Charizard is the OG of strong Pokémon,🧸 perhaps more in the TCG than the video games, but he was, and still is, a fan favorite of many long time trainers. Thank goodness this is one of the Pokém♊on that didn't get shafted with their shiny design.

The deep grey color, with a white belly and crimson red under-wings is somewhat reminiscent of the Meg💜a Charizard X design, but this o🐈ne is even cooler because of how rare it is. On top of being awesome in the games, there are also a few very rare Pokémon cards that feature this design.

7 🐎 WORSE -HONCHKROW

The Pokédex has given Honchkrow the e🥃pithet of♓ "Summoner of Night", due to its ability to summon over one hundred Murkrow with its cry. With such an ominous nickname, the deep blue and red coloring is very fitting.

What's not fitting for this Pokémon is๊ its shiny design w🔴hich paints it hot pink, turning Honchkrow from a mob boss to a fashion designer. Not to mention, as a nocturnal Pokémon, the pink doesn't do it any favors in terms of blending in with the night.

6 🅺 🎐 COOLER: GRENINJA

Although Greninja already has an awesome design, its shiny version is just so much cooler given that this Pokémon is based off of a ninja. Ninjas are stealthy assassins - warriors of the night -  so the al๊l black desig✃n helps Greninja fit into that mold.

With its exceptional speed stat of 122 and its signature move Water Shuriken, shiny Greninja really embodies what its design was based on. The dark red tongue wrapped around its neck as a scarf is just the icing on top of🦩 this awesome design.

5 WORSE: FERROTHORN 🦩

While Ferrothorn's design is strange, it makes sense for its Grass- and Steel-typing. On top of that, its one of the best hazard setting Pokémon in the competitive sphere given its resistant typing and movepool. However, its sh✅iny design is ju🦄st ridiculous.

Ferrothorn only works as grey and green. The pale yellow body and pink arms on the shiny design 🃏looks like someone closed their eyes and pointed to two random colors on a color wheel. Pink never seems to go over well in shiny Pokémon.

4 COOLER: TREVENANT ꩵ

Trevenant is an awesome design regardless of itsꦬ coloring. There aren't a lot of Grass - and Ghost-type Pokémon and this is exactly what you'd want that unique type to look like. This shiny design doesn't just swap colors, but changes them in a way that make sense for a Pokémon that's a tree.

The bark t🅰urns from brown to an ashy white and the leaves change from green to a deep red. It looks very similar to a Birch tree in the fall, but the color choices for th൩e shiny give Trevenant an even more intimidating look which accentuates its Ghost-typing.

3 WORSE: D♛RU꧒DDIGON

There are two types of shiny Pokémon that a lot of trainers don't like: the pink ones and the green ones. Druddigon is one of🌺 the latter. This Pokémon is already one of the least flattering designs. It looks like someone took those craft scissors you use in kindergarten and cut around the original Druddigon to give it this awful jagged look.

On top of that, the ༒green and orange shiny design is just offensive to the eyes. Druddigon's shiny design is comparable to putting rotten cheese in a glass of sour milk; i🦩t makes a bad thing even worse.

2 COOLER: 💮DRAPION

Drapion Pokemon

This is a shining (pun intended) example of shiny Pokémon designs doing exactly what they are supposed to do; take a cool Pokémon and make then even cooler. This Poison- and Da💮rk-type scorpion has two horns and a spiked tail that make it very devil-esque in its appearance.

An all-red Drapion is one of the scariest looking Pokémon out there, which is perfect for a Pokémon that has a description of a Scorpion Ogre. According t🅰o the Pokédex👍, it is so vicious that it's called the Sand Demon. Yikes.

1 𒊎 WORSE: MACHAMP

Machamp is a beloved and will always be one of the Pokémon that is synonymous with raw strength. But the shiny version looks like it's feeling the effects from eating weeks old Taco Bell. It's skin is a sickly green tint that mak⛎es✨ you think it's more likely to attack by throwing up on its opponent rather than punching them.

As prꦚeviously mentioned, a lot of trainers are not fans of the g♔reen designs and this is a great example why. They turn awesome Pokémon in their deathly ill counterparts.
