New Pokemon Snap captures the hearts of many Pokemon fans around the globe as it provides a relaxing and interesting alternative to the combat-focused games in the franchise. Players move along beautiful courses populated with lots of Pokemon and the game plays out rather like an interactiv🐷e nature docuꦅmentary.
As a game in the long-lived Pokemon franchise and a sequel to a popular Nintendo 64 classic, New Poke🧔mon Snap also contains many neat references and throwbacks that fans of the series will appreciate. From returning characters to niche references, there’s a lot for veterans to point at and love.
10 🌃 Technological Developments
Players of the origi💯nal Pokemon Snap will remember the tools they had to use to interact with the Pokemon they encountered in that game. They had Pokemon Food, a Poké Flute and the quite mean-spirited Pester Balls which would explode in a haze of nasty, noxious gas that would up♏set the critters they wanted to snap.
Things are different now, and today’s legions of Pokemon photographers 🐠make do with Apple-like Fluffruit, digitally played music and Illumina Orbs. The Illumina Orbs especially seem to be the biggest change and players will appreciate having a nicer way to interact with Pokemon than assaulting them with Pester Balls.
9 ZE🐬🍰RO To NEO
While exceedingly similar, the player’s vehicle of choice has also got an upgrade. In the o🎶riginal Pokemon Snap the player rode around in the ZERO-ONE which had three distinct modes of transportation that it could switch between: land, water and air.
In reference to the technological advancement that🦂 has occurred in the many years between games, the player now rides around in the NEO-ONE. This vehicle looks sleeker and seems a lot safer and adaptable than the ZERO-ONE. In fact, it gets upgraded to withstand deep-sea diving and the dangerous heat of a volcano over th🧜e course of the game.
8 R🌃ead The Pokedex
With so many years of Pokemon lore hidden away in the Pokedex entries of past games, it is no surprise that some of the interactions in New Pokemon Snap make explicit reference. For example, the Lental Seafloor𒆙 can show a Frillish drag𒈔ging a Magikarp down towards the depthsꦜ. This is a reference to its Pokedex entries that explain that it drags prey miles benea🐬th the surface.
A similar situation happens with some Mareanie and a Corsola in the Maricopa Reef stage. While Professor Mirror is sure that the Pokemon are♔ playing tag, reading the Pokemon Pokedex entries from Generation 7 will reveal something more sinister.
7 🌠 🍎 Form Changes
Many Pokemon released throughout the years have certain variations that reflect either their real-life inspirations or act as part of a game’෴s features. One such example is Vivillon. This butterfly Pokemon is renowned for having many different wing patterns, each one linked to a part of the world. Additionally, Deerling and Sawsbuck have different foliage-type body parts depending on the season.
These Pokemon (and others) show off theseꦰ differences in the game and only players of previous games will probably know why. Vivillon, for example, have different wing patterns depending on which course 🐭they are encountered on. Gotta catch ‘em all (on film).
6 🌠 Todd Is Back!
That’s right, th🍸e protagonist of the original Pokemon Snap is back in🍒 New Pokemon Snap as a neat appeal to nostalgia. He’s all grown up and has made something of a name for himself as a Pokemon photographer, which will surely make players who played through his burgeoning career feel good about themselves.
Players will encounter Todd rather early in the story of New Pokemon Snap and he becomes one of the main researchers in the Lental Region, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:helping the 🅘player out 🌼with requests and tips.
5 Sur💦fing Pikachu 🐼
The ability for Pikachu 📖to learn how to surf is a secret originating all the way back in Pokemon Yellow. In fact, it was referenced in the original Pokemon Snap when the player lured the electric mouse Pokemon to a conspicuous surfboard with Pokemon Food.
In New Pokemon Snap, once again the player can lure a Pikachu to a ‘surfboard’. In the Blushing Beach course the player can use Fluffruit to lead a Pikachu to a Stunfisk. The brave Pokemon will jump on top of the🃏 flatfish and attempt to 🌳surf on it!
4 ♑ 🍒 Missing Pokemon Found In The Lental Region
When Pokemon Sword and Shield released there was something of a furor over the lack of a National Dex. Indeed, to this day it is not possible to catch every single Pokemon that exists in ꦅthos🥀e games.
This may have been addressed specificallဣy in New Pokemon Snap, a game that brings a lot of missing Pokemon back to romp through its courses. Pokemon like Taillow, Meganium, Sawsbuck and Graveler have finally made their Switch debut.
3 🐼 Mythical Barrier 🐬
Travelers to the Jung൩le may be perplexed by the presence of the Mythical Pokemon Mew and find it frustrating that they must throw Fluffruit at it to be able to snap a picture. The adorable Pokemon will s🌱ummon a barrier that prevents photos being taken of it.
This is a reference to the🙈 original Pokemon Snap where Mew was the ‘final boss’ of the game. In that game, the player had to hit it with Pester Balls and use quick reactions to get a good picture of it. It seems Mew is still a little camera shy.
2 𒉰 Secrets Of The Jungle
While the upcoming ‘Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle’ has been delayed significantly in the west,♑ players of New Pokemon Snap are able to see some concept art in this ga🐼me.
Directed by a hint in one of the loading screens, players are encouraged to take a closer look at the photos in the background of the Research Lab which were taken by Rita. Close attention wi🍎ll reveal that these are pictures of locations from the movie. Looks like Rita has been to whichever region the movie takes place in.
1 Reliving History 🐷
New Pokemon Snap really does love re💙ferencing its forebear. In the original Nintendo 64 classic, the first level of the game features a Doduo leaping out of some bushes right in front of the ZERO-ONE. It’s an iconic moment for the game and presents a really good photo opportunity at the beginning of the game, letting the player know what the game is all about.
In New Pokemon Snap, the very first level🌃 features Doduo’s evolved form, Dodrio. The Florio Nature Park features this Pokemon right at the beginning of the level and it’s hard not to consider this a reference to how much the game has grown in comparison to its predecessor.
