The Crown Tundra made a massive impact on the online battles of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Sword & Shield. This is because of the new area’s wide selection of new and returning legendary Pokemon, which can be caught across the region and transferred through 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Home🐽. Many new and classic Pokemon have immediately become staples of most competitive teams.
Not every legendary is permitted in the Battle Stadium, but which ones can be allowed is often a mystery. Many of these Pokemon are immensely overpowered and should rea🌼lly be considered for a ban, while some restricted legendaries would be welcome additions to the online battle scene.
Disclaimer: Ultra Beasts will also be considered.
10 Shouꦗld Be Legal: Keldeo
There are a few common traits that many legendary Pokemon have that usually cause them to be restricted from online battles. The most common is an abnormally high collection of stats, but many Pokemon don’t have inherently high stats unless they turn into one of their 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:alternate forms. This includes Keld🍰eo, the fourth of Unova’s Swords of Justice.
This Water and Fighting-type isn’t problematically powerful on its own and would make for a nice option to contend with Poliwrath and Urshifu. Its Resolute form might be too high to be considered fair, but Keldeo's standard form is relatively conventional for the typical power level 🍸of competitive Fighting-types.
9 Should Be Banned♈: Landorus
Unova’s three Forces of Nature have been a historical menace in online battles since their introduction in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Black & White. Their typings are all extremely hard to deal with and their offensive stats are remarkably high. Despite their atrocious appearances, they๊ pack a massive punch while resisting many moves.
This is especially true of Landorus, a Ground and Flying-type with a remarkable physical attack stat. Since there’s no Gligar or Gliscor in Pokemon Sword & Shield, Landorus is even more powerful in Galar sin🍃ce its type combination is unique. And that isn’t even mentioning its alternate Therian Forme ♏that grants it the powerful Intimidate ability with little cost.
8 🐼 Shou𓆏ld Be Legal: Mew
The 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:original event legendary, Mew, has never really appeared in any official competition. This is much because it has an astoundingly unique ability to learn every move in the game, albeit with the limitation of those from move tutors and TMs. Its versatility seems quite s🐽trong, especially with fully equal stats across the board.
However, this is hardly that much stronger than other Pokemon. Mew’s stats aren’t too much higher than other balance🦂d fighters like Mesprit and Latios, meaning it might not be grossly overpowered when battling among most currently legal legendaries. If there were rarely any legendaries in online play, though, Mew would undoubtedly be more concerning to include.
7 🧔 Should Be Banned: Celesteela
A huge majority of online battlers will usually include at least one 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ultra Beast in their teams. Thanks to their uncommon type combinations and stat-increasing Beast Boost abilities, they can typically beat most average Pokemon in one-on-one matchups. Even without those traits, they defy a lot of t𝕴he usual expectations by having abnormaꦦlly high and divided stats.
Celesteela is one of the most problematic examples꧟ currently, with its Speed being its only low stat. This can cause it to be anything from a defensive Leech Seed tank to a physical beater or even a special attacking tank. Celesteela's Speed stat isn’t even a downside since it learns many Flying-type moves and the Flying-tꦓype Dynamax move even grants a major speed boost on impact.
6 ✤ Should Be Legal: Celebi
Celebi is in an extremely similar category to Mew, having🍎 perfectly balanced stats higher than most averag🦋e Pokemon. Like most mythical Pokemon, it’s never been available in competitive fields, but Celebi lacks the versatility that Mew has by having a more limited moveset of special attacks and common support moves.
Celebi also comes with many literal weaknesses co🤡mpared to other mythical Pokemon, as being both a Grass and Psychic-type makes it vulnerable to seven different attack type🎐s. It definitely would outshine many Pokemon, but it’s hard to imagine Celebi being a dominant force given these restrictions.
5 Should Be Banned: T💙ornadus 🎐
Landorus is far from the only problematic 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Force of Nature, as Tornadus has a much different problem than the irritating Landorus and Thundurus. This is because of its Prankster ability, one that usually comes with weaker Pokemon that act as exclusive sup🦋ports to quickly boost a team’s speed using moves like Tailwind or to disrupt opponents using stat-changing moves.
Tornadus breaks this trend by having access to both the Prankster ability and Tailwind, even though it also has remarkable offensive stats to let it hit hard if it survives after using a support move. If Pokemon like Mew can’t be permitted due t♌o their immense versatility, legendaries like Tornadus should also get the memo that there caꦫn’t be too much balance in their options.
4 ܫ Should Be Banned: Calyrex
While the potential power of Mew and Celebi might be debatable on their fairness in the game, Calyrex is an even less dangerous mythical that feels even stranger to not include in online play. Its stats are mostly balanced, but a slightly higher HP and a lower 80 base points in all its other stats put it way behind most banned 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:mythical Pokemon like Mew, Celebi, and even Victini.
The main reason Calyrex is likely banned is because of its Shadow Rider and Ice Rider forms, where it fuses with the other Crown Tundra legendaries Spectrier and Glastrier. The fused forms are some of the strongest Pokemon in the game, but Calyrex itself would likely be a unique addition to the small family of Grass and Psyc🥃hic-type Pokemon already in the game.
3 Should Be Banned: Regieleki & ဣRegidrago
Broadly speaking, the Regi family isn’t an overpowered group of legendaries. Pokemon like Registeel and Regirock can be frustratingly defensive, but they suffer from shallow self-healing and offensive o๊ptions. Regigigas is quite similar in this regard, having a few smart strategies in online battles to remove its Slow Start ability but otherwise not being too problematic.
The Crown Tundra’s Regieleki, and to an extent Regidrago, don’t exactly fit the same mold. These Regis are significantly more ෴aggressive, with Regieleki having the highest Speed in the game while Regidrago can deal more damage than any other Dragon-type with its signature move Dragon Energy. Regidrago is the weaker member due to its lower speed and defenses, but every team in online play still needs the ability to counter them, making them extremely unhealthy to the online experience.
2 Should Be Legal: Zygarde 🔯
Just like Keldeo, Zygarde’s stats aren’t overpowered outside of its unique forms. Its Power Construct ability can create one of the most overall powerful Pokemon ever, and its neutral form is on the level of most cover legendaries like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Xerneas and Yvetal, the cover legendaries from 🐓Zygarde’s debut game.
However, one form of Zygarde might not be too dangerous to add in, and that is its 10% 🌠form. This version lacks many of the cells and resembles a cellular hound, and it is simply a fast attacker with a unique Ground and Dragon-type combination. It wouldn’t be astounding, but it would likely be a more unique option for th𓂃ose wanting an atypical Dragon-type for their team.
1 🌄 Should Be Banned: The Galar♕ian legendary Birds
The new Galarian legendary Birds of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres aren’t inherently overpowered on their ow✃n. They each🐼 have extremely strong abilities and stats, but their type combinations give them several weaknesses that prevent them from being unbeatable. However, debuting in a game with the Dynamax mechanic has made each one way more dangerous than it otherwise should be.
This is entirely due to the new 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dynamax power since few Super Effective moves will annihilate them in one hit when their defensive stats combine with their newly expanded HP. Even better for all these birds is the Weakness Policy, which effectively doubles a Pokemon’s offensive stats and can turn them into unstoppable offensive machines, even without the likely boosts from their abilities. These birds wo🔥uld likely have been balanced in any other game, but they’re impossibly powerful with Galar’s new and signature mechanics.
