Activate the Quest
The three main Legendary Clues are fairly easy to activate and get started on. You'll immediately find yourself in the opening cutscene of this storyline when you first visit the Crown Tundra. Peony and his daughter, Pe🐬onia,☂ will be arguing outside the train station.
After some cutscenes and dialogue sections, you can eventually find Peony in his cabin in Freezington. The first of three clues he'll give you when you visit him is Legendary Clue #1: T💞he Sacred Bonds of Sovereign and Steed!
Peony's Pillow and the Statue
The first thing you'll need to do is restore the statue in the center of town. Examining the statue will result in a d🍃ialogue box stating that something seems to be missing. Luckily, it's easy to find t♕he missing piece.
Peony will ꦬhave been using it as a pillow, and after asking him for it, hไe'll eventually hand it over. Return to the statue, add the crown, and you'll see a cutscene where Calyrex appears.
Calyrex Appears
Once you speak to Calyrex, a battle against it will begin. Unfortunatel🍬y, you can't catch it here, so simply knock it out however you can and the next cutscene will begin. Calyrex possesses Peony and tells you of how it was once revered in the area but its powers waned when𓆏 the people stopped believing in it.
From here, Calyrex will make a request: see if anyone st🐈ill believes in the king's powers.
Talk to the Townspeople
To find out more, you'll have to approach the various citizens of Freezington. There are six citizens to speak with. They include: the sitting woman with the Spheal, the two older women talk🔯ing to one another, the man by the farm plots, and the mayor of Freezington.
Return to Calyrex and tell it what you learned. It'll tell you about its legendary steed and request that you speak with the citizens a🌳gain. The mayor is missing, however, and you'll have to find him.𝔉 After speaking with the other citizens, head out of the village and find him nearby some farm plots and ruins. He'll tell you to meet him back at his house in town.
Growing Carrots
Head to the mayor's house and follow him inside, where he'll tell you about the legends of Calyrex and its steed. You then have to read the books on his shelf and head back to Calyrex to tell it what you learned. Make sure you read the book titled "Hardy Crops for the Tundra," as it's the most impo💞rtant.
Calyrex will inform you that his steed cannot resist carrots, and that you'll need to find a way to grow some. The man in the middle of town next to the farm plots will sell you some carrot seeds for Dynite Ore. There are two places where you can grow carrots: Snows✱lide Slope or the Old Cemetery. Either way, Calyrex will use its magic to make them grow instantly. Where you decide to grow the carrots w🍒ill determine which Legendary Steed you can catch.
Spectrier vs Glastrier — How to Choose One
Unfortunately, you can only catch one of the two horses, and you'll have to trade with someone to register the other in your Pokedex. If you decide to grow your carrots in the cemetery, you'll summon the Ghost-type Spectrier with a Shaderoot Carrot. If you grow them on Snowsliᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚde Slope, you'll summon the ✃Ice-type Glastrier with the Iceroot Carrot.

Spec﷽trier, as a Ghost-type, is weak to Dark and Ghost-type moves. Glastrier, on the other hand, is we♎ak to Fighting, Rock, Steel, and Fire.
After defeating your re🍸spective steed, it'll leꦉave behind a bit of hair from its mane. Pick it up and then talk to Calyrex.
How to Get the Reins of Unity
Calyrex informs you that you can use the hair to make the Reins of Unity. You'll also need a Radiant Flower, so Calyrex will create a Radiant Petal for you. Bring both of these items to th💫e mayor's house.
After a cutscene with the mayor and Peony, ൲the latter will create the Reins and give them to you.
Head to the Crown Shrine and Prepare for Battle
Next, you'll have to head up to the Crown Shrine, where Calyrex says it will su🦩mmon the steed. Apparently, it has been making its home here while Calyrex was away.
Brings the Reins of Unity and head up Snowslide Slope and through the Tunnel to the Top to the Crown Shrine. This cave can be a bit mazelike, so just keep following the paths that ascend and yo🐽u'll make your way out soon to the Path to the Peak, which leads directly to the shrine.
Catching Calyrex
Once you're inside the Crown Shrine, you can place the carrot in the basket on the left. The steed will show up, and Calyrex will use the Reins of Uni🧜ty to reconquer it, fusing into either Shadow Rider Calyrex or Ice Rider Calyrex, depending on which steed you chose.
This is the final portion of the quest before you capture Calyrex, so you might want to save your game. Fortunately, if you knock it out or it defeats all of your Pokemon, you can try again ꦛto capture it.
If you're ready, talk to Calyrex,⭕ and it'll challenge you to a battle. It's a tough battle, so it may take some serious effort. Shadow Rider Calyrex is double-weak to Dark an🀅d Ghost moves, and Ice Rider Calyrex is weak to Rock, Bug, Ghost, Steel, Fire, and Dark.
Calyrex will be level 80, and the abilities of both forms also make it grow stronger after each time it defeats one of your Pokꦫemon, which can make this a grueling fight.
Luckily, Peony gave you a Master Ball earlier. You don't need to use it here, but ▨it is a great candidate for that Master Ball.
Return to Peony
