Fighting-types are some of the most beloved species of the Pokemon series. There have been countless memorable Fighting-type masters over the years, from Bruno in Pokemon Red & Blue to Bea in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Sword & Shield, and many of their greatest partners are all-stars in the online matches of Galar's Battle Stadium.
Ma🎉ny of these Pokemon are the most talented physical fighters in t🎃he game, so it can be hard for most aspiring trainers to know which are powerful and which aren’t worth using. Whether you wish to use them yourself or need to counter them, it’s important to be aware of which Fighting-type Pokemon you need to be aware of.
Updated January 22, 2022 by Quinton O'Connor: When it comes to Pokemon's competitive meta, a change in seasons means a change in rankings. A list of best Fighting-types can't possibly fulfill its aim if it isn't periodically updated to reflect breakthrough strategies and general player sentiment.

The Tyrogue line is likely one of the most 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:underrated Pokemon families in all of Pokemon Sword & Shield. While Hitmonchan lags as an attacker due to its poor Speed and Defense st▨ats, Hitmonlee manages to be an outstanding physical attaღcker with plenty of Super Effective attacks, mostly thanks to the inclusion of Blaze Kick as a TR.
Even more unique to Hitmonlee is its possible Unburden ability, which doubles its Speed if its item is co🅺nsumed. This can be used to great effect in Dynamax where Super Effective attacks rarely defeat Pokemon in one hit, as berries and the popular Weakness Policy can reliably be consumed to give an additional boost to activate your ability. Once Unburden triggers, Hitmonlee will outrun nearly any Pokemon in the game besides Regieleki.

Falinks isn't exactly the best Fighting-type in Sword & Shield, but it's very likely one of the most underrated Fighting-types you can find in Galar. This is primarily thanks to its signature move No Retreat, which raises all of its stats by fifty percent at the cost of being unable to switch out of battle.
This is hardly a cost, though, as switching out of battle would cause it to lose its stat boosts anyway. So long as you don't get taken down before using this move, it'll result in one of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:highest overall stat totals you can get, with botꦚh speed and defense🍃s to help deal with nearly any counter-pick your opponents can think of.

Poliwrath has constantly been seen as underwhelming compared to the best Water-types in Pokemon Sword & Shield, but that's primarily because of its evolution Politoed having the powerful Drizzle ability to create rain. Poliwrath might not be the support player you need, but it is still a valuable addition to rain teams thanks to the remarkable Swift Swim ability.
This will fully double its speed so long as Poliwrath is in rainy weather, resulting it being higher than nearly any non-legendary Pokemon in the game. This, alongside moves like𝔉 Belly Drum to maximize its attack, can help Politoed reach some absurd strengths before slaughtering foes with moves like Waterfall, ꦚHigh Horsepower, and Close Combat.

Very few Fighting-type Pokemon can function as support players that protect and boost your team, but Hitmontop stands out as an underrated support tank that can disrupt your opponents. It gains access to several priority moves that make up for its poor Speed, such as Mach Punch and Bullet Punch, and even some unique new moves like the new Triple Axel attack from the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Isle of Armor Move Tutor.
However, Hitmontop only usually needs its first turn to be effective. It can receive both the Intimidate ability to lower an opponent’s attack, and the move Fake Out to disable their first move. This means Hitmontop will massively disrupt a foe while knocking out a bit of their health; in a Double Battle, this can often buy time for Hitmontop's partner to fully destroy a key member of their opponent’s team.

It’s fairly impressive how long Machamp has remained a strong and relevant Pokemon in the series. It's a great albeit slow defensive fighter with a high Attack stat, but its shortlist of weaknesses as a pure Fighting-type means it’ll often get at least one hit in. That hit is most often a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dynamic Punch, which deals sign🌜ificant damage while confusing the foe it hits.
Most Pokemon can’t use this move due to 𒁏its poor accuracy, but Machamp defies that thanks to a magnificent ability called No Guard which guarantees a hit. To top it off, it has a remarkable Gigantamax Form with the power to increase Critical Hits among its teammates.

Gallade took quite a while to come into its own as a competitive fighter, but that changed when egg moves became far easier to obtain and TMs grew in number. It's an extremely rare combination of Fighting and Psychic-type, and with physical Psychic-type moves and a wicked Special Defense stat, it's an excellent counter to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:most threats to Fighting-types.
Even better are its unusual move types, with attacks like Leaf Blade and even Shadow Sneak at its disposal for unique Super Effective strikes and powerful priority moves. It definitely is lacking in physical defense and is especially vulnerable to most strong Flying-types, but it'll often deal with more opponents than you'd expect.

For a long time, the Swords of Justice from Unova were only available through 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Home transfers, being the only transfer-exclusive Pokemon that were legal in online battles. This made them quite rare and not worth mentioning, but the Crown Tundra DLC brought many of the best Fighting-types back to a greater availability, and this included the ability to capture Cobalion for one's own team.
Cobalion is often considered the best of the trio, primarily due to its versatile stats. Its high Defense and Speed are quite nice, but a balanced Attack and Special Attack stat pair means there are all kinds of options to build it with. It'll excel with physical builds using combos like Swords Dance and Iron Head, but you can switch it up lots by getting moves like Volt Switch and Air Slash for unusual moves and great Dynamax options.

The average Pokemon has higher stats than many of the original 151, but Hawlucha is often forgotten as one of the more pushed Pﷺokemon. This primarily has to do with its Speed stat, which sits at a surprisingly high 118 above most common competit𒁏ive Pokemon, giving it just enough of an edge against nearly any threat.
How you build it from there is up to you, but a great way to maximize its strength is with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Unburden ability. This lets Hawlucha double its already-high speed when it consumes its item, and with clever uses of Weakness Policies in Double Battles or consuming Red Herbs through Sky Attack, Hawlucha can dish out tons of damage whil🏅e adding to its remarkable strengths at li𒁃ttle cost.

Most Fighting-type Pokemon are quite restrictive in their play styles, with the hefty majority being physical attackers. This makes sense given that they typically revolve around different fighting styles, but for competitive play, it can feel ꦍrestrictive.
This is why Kommo-o is a valuable teamm♏ate, as it fills nearly any role you need. As a defensive tank, it can heal itself constantly with Drain Punch while also kicking out frightening opponents with Dragon Tail. Meanwhile,😼 physical and special fighters can use Clangorous Soulblaze to increase all of its stats to the level of a Legendary Pokemon.

Alola’s titanic beast, Bewear, might not seem powerful given the large swarms of Stuffuls in the Wild Area, but its evolution is no joke. This powerful Normal and Fighting-type is an immense challenge thanks to the extremely rare Fluffyಞ ability 🥃that cuts all physical damage in half, mitigating the damage from Super Effective Flying and Fighting-type opponents.
This ability does have a weakness in the form of Fire-type moves, and Bewear is far🐠 less defensive against special attacks, but these can be solved with an Assault Vest item to raise its Special Defense by an additional fifty percent. With it, attacks like Flameth𒉰rower won’t likely defeat Bewear in one hit, and moves like Drain Punch can keep the Pokemon on the top of its health bar through the entire battle.
