As we anxiously await the release of Pokémon Sword and Shield, we're stuck wondering which of our favorite Pokémon have made the cut and which ones are going to be missing from the Pokédex. Anyone who has been following the updates ඣon this game will know that a lot of P𓂃okémon that we loved from previous games were said to be removed from the game. But which ones?
Recently, the whole leaked and we finally found out which Pokémon we're going to be able to catch and which ones we'll have to do without. The leak came as a pretty big surprise since some serious fan favorites seem tꦕo have been left out.
To see 15🌱 of the Pokémon we're going to miss the most, keep reading!
Updated December 10th, 2019: Since Sword & Shield was released, a few Pokémon that were previously missing were added to the game! Because of thi𓆉s, some of the Pokémon on this list may now be in the game.
Updated February 1st, 2020: A previous version of this article listed Slowpoke among the Pokémon that we were sad to see absent from Sword & Shield. Although this was totally true at the time, the new DLC expansion that was released added back some missing Pokémon - including Galariℱan Slowpoke! As such, we've swapped this Pokémon out for one that we haven't seen re-added just yet.
15 Omastar
Omastar's exclusion from Pokémon Sword & Shield really goes to show that we didn't appreciate some of the Gene🌳ration I Pokémon when we still had them. Omastar is a dual-type Rock/Water Pokémon that was introduced with the original 151 Pokémon and evol💦ves up from Omanyte, after Omanyte is revived from a Fossil.
There are quite a few unique ways that Pokémon can be evolved, but actually catching Pokémon typically always happens in the same way. But in the c🍃ase of Fossil Pokémon, things a𝔉re a little unique because these Fossils are found around the world and then revived by scientists.
14 Castform
Castform is a Pokémon that was introduced in Generation III. This Pokémon is a Normal-type Pokémon and although Sword & Shield has plenty of other Normal-type Pokémon that we can c꧟atch and keep in our parties, this one is special.
Sword & Shield's new weather system has been a ton of fun and a total game changer. Since Castform has different forms based on different weather and can change the weather, we 🐽thought this 💫Pokémon would be a perfect fit for the game. Unfortunately, it wasn't added to the game.
13 Psyduck
Psyduck is a Pokémon that definitely makes a lot of fans of the Pokémon franchise nostalgic. Although it's often useless because of its headaches, it's sꦜtill a Generation I favorite that many of us can't let go of.
Unfortunately though, we do have to let go of Psyduck as this Pokémon is one that was unfortunately♎ cut from the game and 🌜left in previous generations. It almost makes us feel bad for not appreciating this Pokémon while we had it.
12 Bulbasaur
Unfortunately, a lot of the saddest Pokémon that we seem to have lost are ❀starter Pokémon from past generations. That means that if you've been waiting to transfer your starters from past games, you're out of luck.
One of the saddest starters that we lost is Bulbasaur. Many people became attached to this dual-type Grass/Poison Pokémon after it was introduced in Generation I. In past games, it was𝔍 available through trades and various special events. But in this game? So✃rry, Bulbasaur just didn't make the cut.
11 Mewtwo
Mewtwo is a Psychic-type Legendary Pokémon that was introduced in the very first generation of the Pokémon franchise. It was available in past games, mostly through events or trades a🍃nd Poké Transfers, with the exception of a couple of games where the Pokémon appeared as part of 🔴the game.
Unfortunately, the leak revealed that Mewtwo is one of the many earlier-generation Pokémon that simply won't be available in the game. Even if you have one from a past game that you cherish, you won't be able to transfer it to Sword and Shield.
10 Absol
Absol is a Pokémon that was introduced in Generation III and is definitely one we would have thought to be perfect for Pokémon Sword & Shield.
This Pokémon's tail and th🤪e growth on the side of its head are both super sharp and almost look like swords themselves! Although we got Aegislash, a Pokémon that actually looks like a sword, it's a bummer to see that this Dark-type Pokémon didn't get to come with us to the Galar region.
9 Arbok
Arbok is a Poison-type Pokémon from Generation I and is the final evolutionary phase of Ekans. Arbok is a snake-like Pokémon - fitting because its name is "kobra" backward - that many people became familiar with through the one that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Jessie from Team Rocket had in her party.
This Pokémon has been available in the past games, sometimes through finding it in the wild and other times through trading or transferring it into the game from a past one. Unfortunately, this Pokémon is one that was cut from Sword and Shield.
8 𒉰 Incineroar
Unfortunately, Incineroar is another past-generation starter Pokémon that we had to say goodbye to according to this leak. In Generation VII of theܫ Pokémon franchise, players that chose Torracat as th🦋eir starter Pokémon were able to evolve it up into Incineroar.
Considering the fact that this Pokémon was one of the new characters added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, it seems a little unusual that it was one of the mꦓany Pokémon cut from the Pokédౠex.
7 Cubone
Cubone is a Ground-type Pokémon that was introduced in Generation I of the Pokémon franchise. This Pokémon const🐼antly wears a skull as a helmet and is a pretty powerful Pokémon, especially after it evolves into Maro🥃wak.
Even though this Pokémon got a special Alolan region variant in Generation VII, it's one that didn't come with us to the Galar r🅰egion. It wo♑uld've been pretty awesome to see Galarian Cubone, though!
6 Alakazam
Alakazam was introduced in Generation I of the Pokémon franchise. This Psychic-type Pokémon is the final form of Abra and available after evolving Kadabra in the past games, but unfortunately, players aren't going to be able to keep this Psychic-type Pokémon in their party in Sword and Shield.
This wasn't tဣhat was cut from the Pokédex. Other Psychic-type Pokémon that didn't make the final Pokédex include Exeggcute. We'll miss you, Alakazam!
