The event has been appropriately named Galar Beginnings and trainers who plan on picking up a copy of one of the games can sign up as soon as release day. They'll be able to do that by heading to Sword and Shield's official website from November 15, 2019, at 00:00 UTC until December 5, 2019, 23:59. The competition will then begin at 00:00 UTC on December 🎉6, 2019.

Galar Beginnings will then run until December 8, 2019, at 23:59 UTC, giving trainers an entire weekend to battle other players from around the world. So what are the rules? Sword and Shield's website reads that any and all Pokémon are allowed, apart from "certain special Pokémon" wﷺhich will not be. All Pokémon entered will be boosted to level 50 for their battles, but return to their actual level once the battle is over.

As for when the competition goes live, players will need a paid online subscription to Nintendo Switch Online in order to enter and play. Once l🐈ive, play﷽ers will need to open the X menu, select VS, Battle Stadium, then Online Competitions. Players can enter between three and six Pokémon for the competition, and since any and all are allowed, we'd recommend putting together a mixed bag. Other than that, happy battling trainers. Perhaps we will clash at Galar Beginnings!
