There were many Pokémon missing from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Sword & Shield when it released, but thankfully its Pokédex has finally been expanded with the release of the Isle of Armor DLC. Tons of classic Pokémon and a short list of new ones have arrived on the Nintendo Switch, and even if you don't purchase the DLC you can still trade with others and transfer them all through Pokémon Home.
Many of these added Pokémon are exceptionally powerful, featuring tons of famous species throughout 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon history. It's a huge list of with tons of powerful species, but these are just a few of the most powerful classics that the Isle of Armor has to offer.
10 Zoroark
On the surface, this Dark-type beater 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:from Unova isn’t too 🤪complex or unusual. It's extremely fast, has some high offensive stats, and can learn a wide variety of moves, but that’s not generally enough to separate it from other sweepers like Lucario and Dragapu🌌lt.
What makes Zoroark special, though, is its unique ability Illusion, which allows it to take the name and appearance of another Pokémon in your team. This doesn’t change its stats so could easily get taken down while disguised, but it does mean you can easily trick your opponent. Having your tಞank turn out to secretly be a fast beater can often throw opponents way off.
9 Chansey
Chansey itself is a deceptively powerful Pokémon. Its offensive stats are quite low and its Defense is disappointing, 💃but its massive Special Defense and HP make it extremely difficult for most opponents to take down. It also can gain access to the powerful Egg Move Seismic Toss after some breeding, giving you consistent damage without any offensive stats.
Its evolved form, Blissey, is ✱similarly quite a powerhouse, but Chansey ends up being slightly more effective thanks to its ability to hold an Evolite, which gives unevolved Pokémon a huge boost to their defenses. Blissey might have higher base stats, but Chansey can often be a much bulkier target thanks entirely to this item.
8 🃏 ♌Kangaskhan
Many players are sure to miss its 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mega Evolution, but Kangaskhan is still an exceptionally powerful Normal-type that’s important to keep an eye on. Its ability, Scrappy, is extremely rare in Pokémon Sword & Shield, and hitting fast ghosts like Dragapu🌠lt and Gengar with Normalꩵ-type moves gives it an utterly unique skill.
Iꦉts defensive sta🦋ts are also unusually high for something so fast and aggressive, meaning this can be a great filler for any team that needs a well-balanced fighter. It won’t blow away your opponents, but it’s wonderfully reliable for whatever you need it to do.
7 Porygon2
Another great Evolite-user is Porygon2, but unlike Chansey, this former competitive powerhouse focuses a bit more on damage than utility. It has a huge variety of TMs and TRs it can learn that cover tons of different opponent༒s, including Ice Beam and Thunderbolt, and with that range it can easily deal Super Effective damage to most opponents.
There’s also a lot more diversity in how you can build Porygon2, whereas Chansey only has a few strategies and moves it can take. This digital Pokémon 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:from Johto can set up a Trick Room to speed up your team, heal itself forever with Recover, p꧋ut various status conditions on foes, and even just slam in with unstoppable attacks for something a little more straightforward.
6 🎶 Talonflame
It’s not just slow tanks that can dominate battles, as fast efficient fighters can take down battles all on their own. Talonflame does this by being both Flying and Fire-type, a combination that’s only currently shared by Charizard in Pokémon Sword & Shield’s original Pokédex.
To reach its true potential, though, Talonflame needs its hidden ability Gale Wings, which le𝓡ts all Flying-type moves move at the speed of attacks like Quick Attack at full health. This lets you raise its offensive stats and not need to worry about its speed, making for a monstrous offensive threat that can’t be outrun.
5 Klefki
Prankster is an extremely difficult ability to deal with, giving additional speed priority to any status moves. Being able to use Thunder Wave or set up defensive walls like Reflect can already cause enough difficulty, and this strategy has proved itself in Pokémon Sword & Shield through 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:other powerful Fairy-types like Grimmsnarl and Whismicott.
Klefki does this even better thanks to an extremely rare type-combinat༺ion of 🌸Steel and Fairy-type, which gives it resistances to both Dragon and Poison-type moves. It isn’t as bulky as Grimmsnarl, but nullifying two kinds of attacks can help it have an edge over several powerful fighters.
4 Starmie
Starmie has always been one of the fastest and strongest special attackers since the original Pokémon Red & Blue, and its power has only gone up with each generation of Pokémon. It’s also always been one of the simplest, only needing a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:common Water Stone tꦺo evolve from Staryu and learning a wide variety of TMs.
There isn’t much strategy for how you use Starmie besides damage and haste, so this starfish makes a great Water-type for 🌊any players who🌱 haven’t spent too much time doing Ranked Battles. All it needs are some strong attacks like Thunderbolt and Power Gem, and it’s ready for a fight.
3 Volcarona
Pokémon Black & White brought more new Pokémon to the series than ever before, but few match the power of Volcarona. This flaming moth might have a lot of weaknesses, but its stats are high enough🌊 all-around to survive most hits, and they only get higher with the move Quiver Dance raising its Speed, Special Defense, and Special Attack.
If one Quiver Dance is set up, Volcarona’s large body will move alarmingly fast, outrunning nearly every Pokémon in the game. Rock-type attacks can cause it trouble, but protecting it with a Focus Sash or a Double Battle 🌼partner can help it take over any battle.
2 Scizor
This Steel and Bug-type from Johto is another competitive staple, but Pokémon Sword & Shield is sure to give it more opportunities to shine than ever. The strength of this Pokémon comes from its ability Technician, which boosts the p꧅ower of moves below 6⛎0 power.
This ability mixes great with a new move called Dual Wingbeat from the Isle of Armor Move Tutor, which hits twice with 40 power each time. Thanks to the boost from Technician, this gives the move a total of 120 power, giving Scizor a reliable attack that can knock down most opponents that aren’t resistant to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Flying-type moves.
1 Politoed
It might seem odd to praise this bizarre frog so highly, but Polito𝓰ed fills a void that's mostly empty on the Switch. Its stats and moves aren’t very exceptional, but its hidden ability Drizzle lets players set up rainy weather immediately without wasting a turn.
Currently, the only other Pokémon with this ability in Pokémon Sword & Shield is Pelipper, but because it’s also a Flying-type it has a ridiculous amount of weaknesses. Politoed gives a less vulnerable option for Rain Dance teams by being a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:pure Water-type, and its ౠstats are just defensive enough to ▨put up a good fight.
