ཧMagnolia's appearance is certainly reminiscent of the queen. Queen Elizabeth II is the current Queen of ꦕEngland and of the greater commonwealth areas. Magnolia's likeness may just be a coincidence but it seems like a direct nod by the game developers.

Despite the many years of Pokémon making new games, Professor Magnolia is only the second official regional professor in the franchise. Before her, there was Professor Juniper. As we've discussed in this article a few times, Magnolia's presence in the game is whittled down to nothing more than a few cameos, which is 🦹surprising given the magnitude of previous professor's roles in their respective games.
Magnolia even had an additional aspect of her character that was never explored because she was friends with the president of Macros Cosmos and helping him out by collecting wishing stars🍌. We don't learn much about her involvement and it is unfortunate.
