Introduced in the second generation Pokémon games, Larvitar and its evolutionary line quickly became a favorite among players lo📖oking for a strong Dark-type Pokémon to add to their team, as the other alternatives were either defense and status effect focused or just not as good at dealing damage as the final evolution, Tyranitar.
Larivtar returned in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Sword and Shield, being one of the few 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:pseudo legendary Pokémon to return alongside Hydreigon, Goodra, and Kommo-O, and is so far the only pseudo legendary with a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mega Evolution t🤡o return to the game. Despite normally being a late-game Pokémon, Larvitar isn't that hard to find in Galar, if players know where to look for it.
10 🔜 Where To Find Larvitar
Larvitar and its evolutions are only available in the Shield version of the generation eight games, meaning any player who bought Sword instead will need to trade for it or scour the online functions to find one. In the wild, it can be found on the Lake of Outrage in shaking grass while the weather is either overcast of intense sun, but it is much easier to find in Raid Dens. In Rolling Fields, the opening section of the Wild Area players can explore, there is a den that spawns only 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Rock-type Pokémon, with Larvitar being available as a rare spawn here. It may take some time, but players could potentiall🍌y catch a Larvitar before they even reach the second gym.
9 Evol𒊎ution Le😼vels
Like all other pseudo legendary Pokémon, Larvitar has quite a late evolution level compared to many other Pokémon of its power level. Larvitar evolves into Pupitar at level 30, then again into Tyranitar at level 55. This is the same level that the Dratini line evolves, and they are the only two pseudo legendary Pokémon lines that evolve at these levels. Later Pokémon such as Hydreigon and Dragapult, which are also available in Pokémon Sword and Shield, evolve much later and in the🌱 game and aren't as usable in a normal playth🔥rough.
8 Is🧜le Of Armor Tutor Moves
With the addition of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Isle of Armor DLC came new moves that Pokémon could learn via the move tutor found in the Master💮 Dojo. Of these new moves, the Larvitar line can only learn one of them: Lash Out. This Dark-type move with a base power of 75 doubles in strength if it is used the turn the users stats are lowered.
As Tyranitar often holds a Weakness Policy, which is usually activated by the player's use of Bulldoze that also lowers allꦛ affected Pokémon's speed s🦂tat, this makes Lash Out a viable option to any players who use Tyranitar in a doubles team.
7 The Terrifying Pokedex﷽ Entries
Some Pokédex entries in the series have a habit of being quite disturbing, with the likes of Hypno's and Drifloon's habit of kidnapping unsuspecting children and Espurr's uncontrollable powers only being held in by its ears. The Larvitar line is no exception to this, as it is said on many occasions to be able to devour entire mountains worth of rock and cause earthquakes by simply walking around its territory. While it does give the player a go🍌od idea of just how strong the Larvitar line is, it also begs the question as to why the entire world hasn't been destroyed by the creatur🌟es that inhabit it.
6 🎀 Elem🌠ental Weaknesses
Hydreigon and Kommo-O often get a lot of flack from players for their weaknesses, particularly their 4x weakness to thﷺe Fairy-type, but they aren't the pseudo legendary with the most weaknesses in the game. As a Rock and Dark-type, Tyranitar Has more weakness than any other pseudo legendary in the series, with seven weaknesses in total. However, it alꦆso has the same amount of resistances, giving it some much needed defensive powers that other pseudo legendary Pokémon don't have, such as the Ghost and Dark-type.
5 Hyper Beam 😼& Giga Impact
The moves Hyper Beam and Giga Impact are seen as some of the most powerful moves in the series, even if they are Normal-type and can't be super effective against any other type without the aid of moves of abilities. Of all the pseudo legendary Pokémon in the series, some of which are known for using these moves specifically, Tyranitar is the only one that can learn both of these moves by level up, though all of them can learn both by TM or TR, depending on the title being played.
4 𓄧 It's Hidden Abil𓂃ity
For the most part, a Pokémon's hidden ability is seeꦿn as the superior option when it comes to competitive battling or even just a normal playthrough, though there are a few exceptions to this. One of those exceptions is the Larvitar line, who꧃se hidden ability is far too niche for its own good.
Its hidden ability, Unnerve, prevents opposing Pokémꦅon from eating any held berry, which is only useful against a handful of Pokémon both competitively and in-game and is far less useful than its standard ability, Sand S🌳tream.
3 📖 Sand Stream
Weather effects were first introduced to the Pokémon series in generation two, though they didn't reach the heights they now hold until abilities were introduced which could summon them as soon as a Pokémon was sent into battle. Tyrantitar was the first non-legendary Pokemon to have a weather changing ability, introduced in generation three alongside 168澳洲幸运5开奖网ဣ:Drizzle on Kyogre and Drought on Groudon. Snow Warning, the Hailstorm version, wasn't introduced until Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, when Snover and Abomasnow had access to it. Both Gigalith and Hippowdon now have access to this ability as well, but Tyranitar can boast about being the first and argua🅺bly the best Pokémon to have Sand Stream as an ability.
2 Slow & Steady ⛎
For many pseudo legendary Pokémon, their stats focus more on speed and power than anything else, with the latest addition, Dragapult, being the fastest by quite a large margin and having no lack of power either. Tyranitar, on the other hand, is the slowest pseudo legendary Pokemon, having less than half the base speed stat that Dragapult boasts though having much 🎃higher defenses. The second slowest, Metagross, falls into a unique category 🐼as it can learn Agility or simply Mega Evolve to remove its slow status, though Tyranitar can also do this to a lesser extent with Dragon Dance.
1 ಌ Unique Type
There are a few pseudo legendary Pokémon who have the privilege of having a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:unique type combination, and Tyranitar is one of those lucky few to not only have a unique type combination, but to have maintained it years after its introduction. Pokémon such as Dragonite and Metagr❀oss once had unique type combinations, but they quickly lost this status in the following generations. For over 20 years, Tyranitar has been able to maintain its status as the only Rock and Dark-type combination
