Ditto, the transforming Pokemon, is one of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:most interesting Pokemon from the first generation. Ditto is known for its in-game ability to transform into any other Pokemon and temporarily copy any moves that🍒 specific Pokemon currently has.
Because of this, there are quite a few Ditto cards in the Pokemon Trading Card Game, with the Pokemon either appearing as itself or disguised as another Pokemon. Despite Ditto's ability, there are still fewer Ditto cards than fans might expect, even with how long the cards have been around. Like all Pokemon cards, some Ditto cards look much better than others.
10 Skyridge Ditto 💫
This Ditto from the Skyridge expansion, illustrated by Tomokazu Komiya, is in a cave alongside various paintings of humans and Pokemon. It's unclear if Ditto created the paintings or if they were there before its arrival. This cave is a unique environment for Ditto, as it's not usually where Ditto appeared before Pokemon Emerald version, with a few exceptions in select first-generation games.
Ditto is either imitating the cave paintings or getting ready to defend its territory from a nearby intruder. According to Ditto's Pokedex entry in Pokemon Crystal, Ditto will move faster than usual when encountering another Ditto to match it.
9 🎐 ඣ Vending Ditto
An exclusive Ditto card only available through Japanese vending machines, this car🌺d was illustrated by long-time Pokemon designer Atsuko Nishida, who most notably designed Pikachu and Raichu. This is an intriguing card in that Ditto seems to be leaping through the air, which is not an action many would usually think of since Ditto is grounded most of the ti♈me when in its true form due to its body.
This Ditto may either be leaping into battle𒁏, leaping to transform, or a combination of both, which would go in line with its Amazing Transformation Pokemon Power, with Ditto transforming into any other Pokemon in play if the requ🐻ired coin flip results in heads.
8 Delta Ditto (Bulb𒉰asaur)
Besides the regular Ditto featured in it, there are five Delta versions of Ditto from the EX Delta Species expansion, which are the first ever transformed Ditto cards created by Yuka Morii. These Ditto don't only copy the appearance and moves of Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, and Geodude but also their types.
Although they all use the same clay art style, Ditto disguised as Bulbasaur is the best. This version of Delta Ditto stands out among the others because it's trying harder to imitate the Pokemon it has transformed into by being in the proper environment near plenty of grass and dirt.
7 Crown Zenith Ditto (Numܫel) ও
This card has one Ditto disguised as the third-generation Fire-type Pokemon Numel, blending into a herd of ಞthem. W🅠hile this is far from the first card to show Ditto disguised as another Pokemon, it is the first to show Ditto attempting to blend in with the Pokemon it transformed into, even if its face is a dead giveaway.
Unlike the earlier Delta versions of Ditto, it remains a Normal-type Pokemon, reflecting how its in-game abilities only change its appearance and moves, not its type. It's also great that the art takes up the entire card with the Ditto closest to the center, so it doesn't turn into a guessing game of which Numel is Ditto.
6 🍷 EX FireRed & LeafGreen Ditto
The Ditto card from the EX FireRed and LeafGreen expansion, illustrated by Miki Tanaka, has less Ditto than most other 🎐cards🥂 that feature it but more space for the holographic pattern surrounding it. This card shows the transforming Pokemon in a small pool of water, presumably taking a bath.
This art makes sense as Ditto probably get dirty very easily due to being sentient bl𒐪obs with no legs and feet to help lift them off the ground, but it may be ꦕsomething few Pokemon fans thought about, at least before the mainline entries introduced cleaning the Pokemon in your party.
5 🃏 Fossil D༺itto
The first Ditto card to be released, which many remember, was illustrated by Kenji Kinebuchi and came in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Fossil expansion. A handful of Pokemon cards used the same 3D art style as🐼 this Ditto, but Ditto is peculiar due to its tiled backgr🦋ound.
This background could be a reference to the Pokemon Mansion on Cinnabar Island in Kanto, as it looks similar to the mansion's floor and is the only place Ditto can be caught in Pokemon Yellow Version. The artwork may be more basic compared to later Ditto cards, but its nostalgia factor, recognizability, and the possible reference to the games it first appeared in help it stand out.
4 Koga's Ditto
A Ditto illustrated by well-known Pokemon artist Ken Sugimori and belonging to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fuschia City Gym Leader Koga despite not being a Poison-type, Koga's Ditto from the Gym Challenge expansion takes up the majority of the card frame, leaving little room for the holographic pattern that surrounds it.
A Ditto owned by Koga may be a reference to Koga being a ninja since he could use it to transform into a second copy of himself or imitate other ninja-related techniques. Koga's Ditto also reflects Ditto's texture, something many other cards didn't do at the time. It doesn't have the stickiness some later cards reference, but it makes Ditto seem like it would feel like putty.
3 ꩲ Triumphant Ditto ♓
This Ditto from the HeartGold and SoulSliver Triumphant expansion, illustrated by match, isn't transformed into another Pokemon but isn't in its usual upright position either. It's in a cave filled with sharp crystals, some of which it may be on top of. To reflect this, this Ditto has a Sharp Point attack rather than the Pound attack some of its predecessors have.
This Ditto also does not transform into other Pokemon, as itsꦏ Ditto-bolic Poke-Body has a different effect. T♊his card could be seen as a reference to how several Pokedex entries claim Ditto can transform into anything, which has also been repeatedly shown in the anime series.
2 🎃 Shiny Vault Ditto V ൲
Despite being introduced in the second-generation Pokemon games alongside the original concept of shiny Pokemon, the shiny version of Ditto was not represented in the card game until the alternate art version of Ditto V from the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Shining Fates expansion by🐼 Saki Hayashiro from the Shiny Vault set. Ditto V is the only Ditto that can Dynamax into Ditto VMAX, which also has a 🍸shiny version.
What's great about the art of this card is that it's a full art card, not being restricted to a smaller frame, and it also makes Ditto's shiny coloration feel more significant, with the same sparkle effect seen when shiny Pokemon are encountered in the games.
1 ♉ XY Black Star Promꦿo Pikachu Ditto
One of the cards featured in the XY Black Star Promos series, this card illustrated by 5ban Graphics features a Ditto transforming into Pikachu, but it makes it look like it's either in the middle of transforming or screwed up so badly that it kept its original color and bottom half in addition to its face.
This card uses Ditto's Pokedex entry from Pokemon X, which states that it can reorganize its cellular structure into whatever it sees, reflected in the card's multicolored cellular background. This is the best of the Ditto cards based on artwork because it shows what Ditto's known for without having it look like another Pokemon with just Ditto's face.
