This year is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon's 25th Anniversary, and the TCG is celebrating with a special set full of reprints, remixes and returning mechanics. Comprised of the 50 card Celebrations set proper, and several tie-in products featuring their own promo cards, it's one of the most exciting releases of the year for the game.
That being said, Celebrations can also be pretty confusing when it comes to which cards you can play in which formats. Here is eve🌟rything you need to know ab🃏out which formats Celebrations is legal in.
Standard
The easiest way to tell if a card in Celebrations is legal in the current (post-September 10, 2021) Standard is to check the bottom left corner of the card. If it's Standard-legal, there will be a small D or E regulation mark. If there isn't, it isn't.
In Celebrations, the entire of the main set is Standard-legal, and so are most of the promo cards that come in tie-in products. ෴That means the following cards from Celebrations are legal in the Sta꧙ndard format:
- Ho-oh
- Reshiram (002/025 version)
- Kyogre
- Palkia
- Pikachu
- Flying Pikachu V
- Flying Pikachu VMAX
- Surfing Pikachu V
- Surfing Pikachu VMAX
- Zekrom (010/025 version)
- Mew
- Xerneas
- Cosmog
- Cosmoem
- Lunala
- Zacian V
- Groudon
- Zamazenta V
- Yvetal
- Dialga
- Solgaleo
- Lugia
- Professor's Research
- Mew
- Pikachu VMAX
- Lance's Charizard V
- Dark Sylveon V
- Pikachu V
- Poke Ball
- 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pikachu V-UNION
Expanded
Expanded is where Celebrations' legality gets more complicated, as the cards must have either been debuted in, or been reprinted in, an expansion released since the original 2011 Black & White base set.
Celebrations confuses things a bit because it is both introducing a range of new cards to the Expanded format and reprinting a number of older ca🎃rds that may or may not be legal, depending on when they were last printed. All of the Standard-legal cards listed above are also legal in Expanded, as well as:
- Reshiram (113/114 version)
- Zekrom (114/114 version)
- Mewtwo EX
- Tapu Lele GX
- Xerneas EX
- M Rayquaza EX
- Here Comes Team Rocket!
Legacy
Legacy is a digital-only format that uses cards from between 2010's HeartGold & SoulSilver base set and 2013's Legendary Treasures. While Legacy is being phased out with the introduction of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon TCG Live, you can still redeem Celebrations boosters on TCG Online, meaning you could play with some of these cards in Legacy for the few months it's still around.
The cards legal in Legacy are:
- Reshiram (113/114 version)
- Zekrom (114/114 version)
- Mewtwo EX
- Donphan
- Poke Ball
Unlimited
Unlimited is an unofficial format that allows any cards released to be played. It's the format you're most likely to play at the kitchen table or with friends, whereas Standard and Expanded are the two supported at official events.
In Celebrations, there are a few cards that are specifically barred from organiওsed tournament play, meaning you can only play them in Unlimited or another fan-made format. These are:
- Venusaur
