This year's 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon's TCG Illustrator Contest has taken a rather significant turn for the worse, as s🌌everal fans are criticizing organizers for allowing all🧸eged AI-generated images to sneak into the quarter-finals.
Over the past few years, fans of TCGs have made it very clear that AI-generated images have no place in their communities, with high-profile cases such as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Wizards of the Coast's social media debacle in which prolific Magic: The Gathering ar𒈔tist Dave Rapoza announc🍎ed he would stop working with the company. AI Is Ruining The Jꦓoy Of Experienci🐻ng New Art
WWE 2K24 is under fire for a piece of artwork that isn't even made w♔ith AI, but a real artist.
First reported by , various artists have been , each one seemingly entered by the same person going under a different name. That's a whole problem in itself, as it's made clear that only one entry per person is allowed, but artists believe they've spotted clear signs of AI-generation within all of these pieces.
Pokemon TCG Illustrator Contest 2024 Is Under Fire Over AI-Generated Entries
Two pieces in particular have received the most criticism, those being the Pikachu in the stadium by Khachadoorian, and the swimming Eevee by Vigen K. While the Pikachu artwork is simply being accused of AI-genera🌺tion, with the background and s🔯tage Pikachu is stood on showing clear signs of AI tampering, the swimming Eevee piece is being accused of stealing fan art to complement an AI-generated image.
noted on Twitter following the reveal of Vigen K's artwork that the Vaporeon in the background seems to have been lifted from an older piece of fan art and slightly altered. It's made all the more apparent by the difference in styles between the Eevee and Vaporeon, and this image alone casts doubt on all the other entries closely associated with Vigen K's many pseudonyms.
Unfortunately, these alleged AI-images have made their way to the quarter-finals, and there's not much the organizers can do about it besides weed them out and ensure they don't make it to the semis. There are also no rules in place at the moment regarding AI, which is possibly a result of last year's contest being skipped and the sudden explosion of AI content over the past couple of years. Either way, it sucks if these are AI, and Pokemon TCG needs to do better to start making sure hard work is rewarded.
