Obviously, Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket needed a unique feature or mechanic to set it apart from similar titles, and it has one that only collecting digital versions of each card can provide. In this game, you'll be able to collect "immersive cards", which will let players break the boundaries of a card and dive into that small section of the Pokemon card to see expanded card art and animations.

It's a pretty neat little game, though there were a few questions left unanswered. For starters, the trailer doesn't mention how players actually earn these Pokemon card packs, so we've yet to see how monetized the overall experience will be, and we've also yet to get a proper release date. Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket was the first of just a couple of big announcements during this Pokemon Presents showcase, with the other being a teaser for a new Pokemon Legends game set in the Kalos🍸 region. We don't quite know all the details just yet, but we do know that it's called Pokemon Legends: Z-A and will launch at some point in 2025 for both the Nintendo Switch and its upcoming successor.
