Triple Battles were a format released in the fifth generation of Pokemon. This new format only lℱasted into the Gen VI games, but its impact on the battling community lasts to this day. Triple👍 Battles are similar to Double Battles, but three Pokemon are sent out on each side, all at once.
They differ from doubles in the fact that distance is taken into account in these battles. Center Pokemon can hit all Pokemon on the board, but can be hit by all other Pokemon. Pokemon on the si🃏des of the battle cannot hit pokemon on the opposite side of the board without using certain moves. Getting used to this format can be daunting, so try out some of these strategies to learn the format, and have fun!
10 The Queen
Named for the most powerful piece in Chess, this strategy revolves around turning a single lead Pokemon into an unstoppable force. Choose any Pokemon with a high Speed stat to place as your center Pokemon. Some of these can include Greninja, Electrode, or 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the mythical Pokemon Victini. This Pokemon must be equipp✨ed with🌄 a move that can hit all targets on the opposing team.
The two side Pokemon must have access to the move Helping Hand. Both Pokemon can use Helping H﷽and on the 🅠Queen Pokemon, and the damage boosts stack for a 100% damage boost. It is best if both of these Pokemon are resistant or immune to the Queen’s AOE move, in case multiple moves have to be used against the opponent.
9 Moral Support ♈
Similar to The Queen strategy, this one focuses a bit more on defense. Your team will need a strong Special attacker in the center, as well as a Meowstic, and a Pokemon that can 🉐learn the move Flatter on the sides.
Meowstic first needs to set up a Safeguard. This protects the team from status effects. The other side Pokemon will then use Flatter on the center Pokemon. This move raises Special Attack by one stage but also 🐼confuses it. Safeguard prevents the confusion. As long as the center Pokemon can tank a shot or two, it can continue to stack Flatters, while Meowstic puts up Light Screens and Reflects to decrease further damage.
8 Wide Lens
Fighting in Triple Battles, it can be annoying to not be able to hit Pokemon on the opposite end of the field. Take that modifier out of the🧸 equation with this strategy. Your center Pokemon should have access to the move Wide Guard. Mr. Mime is a good candidate because it can also put up screens to defend the team.
Your two side Pokemon should be Rhyperior with a Weakness Policy, Rock Slide, and Earthquake, and Primarina with Hyper Voice, Disarming Voice, and Surf.ꦓ This will cover most typings and your center Pokemon can defend the two support Pokemon.
7 ꦉ Metronom⛄e Frenzy
More of a fun team to 📖get a feel for the format, this is a team centered around chaos. Bring three Mews to the fight, all of whom know Metronome. Metron🍸ome targets a random foe and uses a random move from any move pool.
Using three Metronomes each turn is sure to inspire some chaos. If you really want to annoy your opponent, fꦇill the other move slots of each Mew with Life Dew, Reflect, and Light Screen. Otherwise, give yourself up to chance and believe that the battle will be over in ten moves or less, one way or another.
6 🎶 I Pledge Allegia𝔍nce
Pledge moves were introduced for the sole purpose of be⛎ing used in Triple Battles. There is a Fire, Water, and Grass Pledge, but this strategy needs only Fire and Water. Take a Fire and Water Starter Pokemon of your choice with their respective Pledges. Your side Pokemon should be Togetic with Serene Grace and Ancient Power.
When these two Pledges are used, a rainbow will appear on the ally’s side, which gives the Serene Grace effect for⛦ the rest of the turn. This stacks with Serene Grace, and will almost guarantee that Ancient Power gives its stat boos💫ts every turn it is used.
5 Flo🐬wer Gift 𝓰
Flower Gift is the powerful ability of Cherrim that boosts the whole team’s Attack and Special Defense by one stage. Flower Gift is only active in harsh sunlight, so be sure to bring along a Pokemon w𒅌ith Drought as the ability, and Sunny Day as a move to keep the sun shining.
A strong Grass-type with access to Growth and Synthesis can be a great center for this build. Both attacks are boosted by the sun, so a Pokemon like Venusaur can be made into an unstoppable tank very 🎐quickly. Just make sure to keep your two side Pokemon healthy!
4 ꧑ Justified Beatup
The Justified Beatup tactic does exactly what it says in the name. The two side Pokemon should have access to the move Beatup. This move♌ hits a target with a very low power Dark move as many times as the allied team has viable pokemon in their party. The center Pokemon has to have the ability Justifi♎ed.
The idea of the gimmick is to use both side Pokemon to use Be🎉atup on your own center Pokemon. Each instance of Beatup will add a stage of attack while doing minimal damage. The team pictured above is a good composition as all Pokemon are high speed. This mea🔯ns that you will often get your combo off before the other player has a chance to react.
3 InTRIPidate ꧙
Sometimes a strong start is all you need. In order to really ruin your opponent, try taking three Pokemon with Intimidate as your starting line. The Attack-dropping ability has the same range as attacks, meaning only the center Pokemon on the opposing te༒am will take all three Attack drops. Still, all🐲 Pokemon will suffer two attack drops, and this is more than enough to reduce their Attack stat significantly.
Keep in mind that if the opponent opens with mostly Special Attackers, this strategy is rendered moot. That said, most Pokemon that have access to Intimidate are generally very powerful, so opening with three will be strong even if the Attack drops don't appropriately wreck your opponent's physical Attack stat. Also, make note of the fact that the team pictured above is extremely susceptible to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ice-type attacks, sℱo you may want to look around🧜 for other candidates.
2 Soaking Wꦜet ♌
Weather is a game-👍changer in any format, and this build takes full advantage of it. In other formats, the move Soak is fairly cumbersome. It has to be set up and then followed up on with an Electric- or Grass-type move, which often means it takes multiple turns.
With this build, you can send out a Pelipper with the Drizzle ability to set up rain. Make sure it knows the move Soak. Your center Pokemon should be a powerful Electric-type like Raichu or Electivire that knows Thunder. Thunder cannot miss in the rain, so all you have to do is Soak potential threats and follow up with a Thunder gut punch. Many players may want to switch out often, so think about making your third Pokemon 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:carry Mean Look.
1 ♕ On The Contrary
Role Play is a move that can be difficult to take advantage of, especially in Single Battles. Triple Battles really allow this move to have utility, and some very fun combinations can be created with it. The move will change the user's ability to whichever ability the target of the move has. Spinda has the ability Contrary, which inverts stat increases and decreases. This ability is frankly lost on the Pokemon, but with Role Play in the mix, many Pokemon can become unstoppable steamrollers.
Infernape and Blaziken can both learn Role P🐈lay and have access to Overheat and Close Combat, two moves that would normally drop the stats of the pokemon. Additionally, Latias is the only Dragon-type that can learn Roleplay, and it has access to Draco Meteor, which drops Special Attack by two stages after use. These Poke﷽mon can steal Contrary from Spinda, and suddenly you have two titanic Pokemon for the opponent to deal with.
