Generation I of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon only required a few different evolution methods for those looking to complete their Pokédex: leveling up a Pokémon to a certain level, exposing them to an evolutionary stone, or trading them. Generation II introduced a day/night mechanic, as well as Pokémon friendship (with more than just your starter Pikachu in Yellow), and both were use𒆙d to create new evolution methods.

From there, the floodgates were opened. There are now a number of evolution methods across all the generations, with some of them being a little stranger than others. ꩲHe﷽re are some of the weirdest ones.

10 Inkay

Often held𒁏 up as the strangest evolution method, Inkay really is a unique 🧜Pokémon. Many people have wasted time leveling their Inkay up to extreme levels without it evolving and being left confused (and frustrated).

Here's the trick: Inkay will evolve into Malamar anytime it levels up after level 30 while the console is held upside-down. This was first used in Pokémon X & Y on the 3DS but is also now used in Sword & Shield on the Switch.

9 Porygon2

What's strange about the Porygonꦛ line's evolution methods is based on their lore in-game. These Pokémon are artificially created and consist entirely of programming code. To evolve Porygon into Porygon2, it should be traded holding an Upgrade.

From there, it'll evolve into Porygon-Z when traded holding a Dubious Disc. According to dialogue and Pokédex entries, this was meant to upgrade the Pokémon even further bu𒁃t just ended up corrupting the code. This left Porygon-Z as an unstable and, frankly, weird Pokémon. Interestingly, this family is the only one that has two separate evolution via trade.

8 Pokémon GO Candies 💯

In 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon GO, evolution often works a bit differently than the core series games. The main way that Pokémon evolve is by using that evolutionary family's candies, which are 🐬small round items that are earned by catching or transferring Pokémon.

What's strange about this method is that it's unclear where exactly these candies come from. Many theorize that they are ground-up bits of the transferred Pokémon, which𒈔 the game never says, of course. But, how do they make a Pokémon evolve, and why do different Pokémon need a different number of them?

7 Meltan

Speaking of Pokémon GO — it's necessary if you're ever going to get your hands on the Mythical Pokémon Melmetal. In one of the most obvious marketing ploys in the Pokémon series, Meltan will only evolve into Melmetal if done in Pokémon GO. Even though Meltan is obtainable in other games (namely, the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Let's Go series), it cannot evolve there.

It'll take 400 candies in Pokémon GO (that's a lot of ground-up Meltan, if the theories are true), meaning you'll have to burn through your stash of Rare Candies if you don't have Let's Go.

6 🅠 ไ Galarian Yamask

The Genera♛tion VIII games actually introduced quite . One of the hardest to figure out was Galarian Yamask, which requires a few un𒐪intuitive steps.

First, Yamask will need to take at least 49 damage. After that, ensure it does not faint, then venture to the Wild Area and ✨walk under the archway in the Dusty Bowl area. The evolution will be triggered and you'll be the owner of a brand new Runerigus.

5 Galarian Fa♏rfetch'd 👍

Staying in the Galar Region, players will have to work hard to get their hands on a Sirfetch'd. First, Galarian Farfetch'd is locked to Sword, so Shield players will need to trade for it.

After that, Farfetch'd will need to land three critical hits in a single battle in order to evolve. There are a few ways to increase a critical hit ratio, including using a Dire Hit or holding a Leek/Stick. There are also a few moves that can increase ♔the chance of landing critical hits.

4 Applin

There are quite a few Pokémon that are based on or related to food, and Applin is just one of them. This Grass/Dragon-type is a small worm🌳 that lives inside an apple, and it has a br🐟anched evolution.

If exposed𒅌 to a Tart Apple, it will evolve into Flapple. If exposed to a Sweet Apple, it will evolve into Appletun. How an apple will make a worm evolve is unclear, but it's definitely wℱeird.

3 Nincada

It's never quite clear if Shedinja is an evolutionꩲ of Nincada or just somehow related to it, but many games treat it as though it's an evolution. In this case, Nincada actually evolves into two Pokémon at once if the conditions are met.

When Nincada evolves into Ninjask, it disc𝓰ards its outer shell. If there's an empty Poké Ball in the player's bag and an empty slot in their party, Shedinja will be 🥃created from that outer husk.

2 Shelmet And Karrablast 🔜

While Nincada's outer shell turns into a Pokémon of its own, Shelmet's is straight-up stolen by another Pokémon. If Shelmet and Karrablast are traded for one another, Karrablast "steals" the steel armor of the Shelmet and wears it as 𓂃Escavalier, while Shelmet is left fleshy and unprotected as Accelgor.

This evolution will not trigger if either of these Pokémon are traded for anything else, making it the only trade-based evolution that requires the Pokémon t♛o be traded for a specific different Pokémon.

1 Milcery

Everything about Milcery and Alcremie is strange, from the fact that Alcremie h🅰as more than 60 forms to the fact that they might both be edible (unclear), and the strangeness is continued with their evolution method.

To evolve Milcery into Alcremie, it will need to hold a Sweet item. From there, spin in a circle and strike a pose. The direction of the spin, the time of day, the length of the spin, and the held Sweet 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:will all determine which Alcremie form is obtained.
