Every type in Pokemon has its own Pokemon roster, and while it would be nice to have equally wide selections of Pokemon for each type, some types ar🅺e more abundant and varied than others.

There are certain types out there that just need more Pokemon. Whether the type is generally not as abundant as you'd want outright, or you need more of a specific kind of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon from a certain type when it com﷽es to stats or designs, these types have🎀 needs Game Freak should fill at some point.

10 Flying

Tornadus Therian Forme Creating Wind, Pokemon Anime

Of course, there are already 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a ton of Flying-type Pokemon out there, getting at least two or three new ones every generation. However, almost all Flying-types are dual-typed; it would be n🍎ice to see some more pure Flying-types.

The Flying-type easily has the least monotype Pokemon out there, only consisting of one fully-evolved Pokemon in Tornadus, along with Rookidee and Corvisquire. That's a shame considering how interesting a pure Flying-type's matchups are, so it would be nice to see Game Freak go that route to the tune of at least one or two pure fliers.

9 Ground

Ground Type Legendary Omega Ruby Alpha Sapphire Trailer

The Ground-type is surprisingly sparse when compared to other, more abundant types. There are a solid number of 🉐them, but there have been generations where there were barely any new onꦯes. Generation Six, for example, only introduced Diggersby as the only new regular Pokemon.

What about non-regulars? Well, it's especially lacking in the Legendaries and Mythicals department, only having three of the former and none of the latter. That's even more surprising, and although 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Groudon, Landorus, and Zygarde are mighty strong, it would be great to see a Mythical Pokemon gﷺet the Ground-type treatment.

8 Bug

Pokemon genesect

There's a good number of Bug-type Pokemon, but it's a textbook quantity-over-quality situation. The Bug-type needs more good Pokemon, having so m💙any Pokemon with lower base stats.

Say what you will about Bug-type designs, but Game Freak had a streak of creating weak, early-routꦏe bugs, especially earlier on. Generation Five has done the type a lot of favors, creating a bunch of good Bug-type Pokemon and even one Mythical. But the Bug-type still has no Legendaries to its name, unless you count the Mythical Genesect and/or Ultra Beasts Pheromosa and Buzzwole.

7 Fairy

Sawyer's Slurpuff, Pokemon XY Anime ORAS

The Fairy-type is the newest one, so you'd expect it to have fewer Pokemon than other types. It's certainly nearer to the lower end of types in terms of abundance, but it's not like the type is totally barren, thanks to older Pokemon getting their types retconned.

That said, most Fairy-types are cute and pink, so it'd be nice to see Game Freak be a little more creative when it comes to their designs. Fortunately, they've already tried their hand at it with Generation Eight's Grimmsnarl and, to some extent, the Guardians of Alola.

6 Rock

rock ground type pokemon anime diamond pearl

Collectively, the Rock-type is one of the slowest out there, with most of its Pokemon being 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:sluggish, defensive walls. This group of Pokemon needs more like Lycanroc that can out-Speed other Pokemon and take advantage of Rock's interesting type matchups.

The Rock-type has also been somewhat boring design-wise. There are some exceptions, of course, like the popular Tyranitar and Mythical Diancie, but otherwise, it's usually the same ol' rock-shaped creature or fossil Pokemon. The Rock-type might not be so easily considered one of the worst if some of its Pokemon were more interesting, both stats-wise and design-wise.

5 Poison

Garbodor using Gunk Shot in the Pokemon anime

Poison-type Pokemon, while arguably not as boring as Rock-type Pokemon, fall under a similar trap when 🐈it comes to designs. Most of them either resemble pollution or have either the𒈔 Bug- or Grass-type attached to them. Newer Pokemon like Toxtricity and Eternatus hopefully show signs of things to come in terms of creativity.

Speaking of Eternatus, it's the type's first ever Legendary, taking eight generations to get one if you don't count the three Ultra Beasts Nihilego, Poipole, and Naganadel. It's understandably difficult to come up with Poison-type Legendary concepts, but more in the future definitely wouldn't hurt.

4 Electric

Zeraora looking sad and angry, Pokemon The Movie The Power Of Us Anime

Like the Ground-type, the Electric-type has a surprising, relative lack of Pokemon for how popular it is. The type follows an overused prototype, too, having 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a surplus of fast special attackers and a lack of 🃏physical attackers an🉐d defensive walls.

That makes it even more tiring to run into a new pure Electric-type almost every generation. Other than Generation Six, every generation has introduced one or more pure Electric-type Pokemon. Even then, the Generation Six Pokemon Heliolisk is a pure Electric-type in spirit. Fans probably wouldn't mind seeing something different after getting the same mold of Electric-type Pokemon for years.

3 Fighting

Korrina's Lucario as it appears in Pokemon X & Y anime

Conversely, with the Electric-type, the Fighting-type needs way more Pokemon better on the special side, especially offensively. The only Pokemon you could really say fall under that camp are Lucario and Keldeo, and even then, Lucario is seen more as a mixed attacker. It would be nice to see mo💮re regular Fighting-type Pokemon seen solely as special attackers.

Like with the Electric-type, it'd also be nice to see more dual-type Fighting-types, and while significant efforts have been made to diversify the Fighting-type, you're still very likely to see several new 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:pure Fighting-types released every other generation.

2 Dragon

Pokemon Second Type Drampa

The Dragon-type gets 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a pseudo-Legendary every generation. While they're typically quite strong as they should be, it'd be nice if the Dragon-type stepped aside and focused more on filling out their roster of more middle-tier Pokemon.

It's fun to see how Game Freak has been going more out-of-the-box with the Dragon-type recently. Some recent Pokemon like Noivern, Drampa, Dracovish, and Dracozolt have proven that more mundane, less overpowered Dragon-types can exist in the Pokemon world. Game Freak should think about making pseudo-Legendaries of other types, and have some Dragon-types more readily available and usable midway through playthroughs.

1 Ghost

Mismagius as it appears in the Pokemon anime

All-in-all, the Ghost-type is one of the least abundant types in the game. That's not hard to believe when at one point, in Generation Two, the only two fully-evolved Ghost-types were Gengar and Misdreavus. That resulted in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ghost-type specialists like Agatha and Mort⛦y having to repeat Pokemon or make do with Poison-types.

That's since changed, with subsequent generations making it a point to pad out the Ghost-type roster. Still, it could use some help, with not many Ghost-type Pokemon commonly used in playthroughs, since they're typically caught so late in games.
