One of the most interesting parts of every Pokemon game, from a lore perspective, is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Professor Oak's Pokedex. Each discovered Pokemon has an entry — and he's pretty quick on updating the records 🌳when you discover something new, too!
While the entries repeat in some games, we typically learn something new about every Pokemon whenever it reappears in a new game. While sꦯome facts are things you see happen in the games and animes and comics, some details are... a little concerning, to say the least. And 💎some entries leave more questions than they give us answers.
Here are ten Pokedex entries with unansweredಌ qu😼estions.
10 Why Do Some Humans Beไcome Pokemon?
More than one Pokedex talks about Pokemon who were once human, which is difficult to think about. For example, in Fire Red it says that one boy "awoke in bed transformed into Kadabra," and Phantump, according to mor♛e than one Pokedex entry, are "possessed by the spirits of children who died while lost in the forest". And these aren't the only⛦ two examples.
So why do some humans die (or not) and become Pokemon? It could be because while Mew was the first Pokemon, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Arceus created all life in the u🌠niv♎erse. Are humans destined to evolve into Pokemon, eventually? Is it a mu😼tation? Is it voluntary?
9 What Is Actually In𒈔side Shuckle's Shell? ꦬ
Aw, shucks. What a shy Pokemon. But Shuckle's Pokedex entry in Ruby and Sapphire harbors an uncomfortable qu🌸estion t𒆙hat might explain why it hides its head.
Apparently, it stores berries inside its shell which it mixes "with its bodily fluids to become a juice." Does Shuckle have no teeth? Is it eating itself? Does its body regenerate afterward? What are the mysterious🥀 fluids? Try not to think too hard about it.
8 🐠 What Happens If Your Spoink Faints? 🐲
Not every Pokemon battle goes the way that you want it to. Sometimes, all of your Pokem🌸on get knocked out, and you have to rush to the Pokemon Center. But what happens if one of your team members is a Spoink? In the Pokedex entry from Ruby, we're told that its spring powers its heart and if it stops bouncing, "its heart will stop."
Facts like this raise a lot of questions about not only but also the physiology of Pokemon. Can Spoink survive without a heartbeat and if so, how? And while we're at it, should we be worried about 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Charmander's tail, too?
7 ෴ What Does Cubone's Face Look Like?
Cubone — and its evolution, Marowak — is always shown wearing a skull on its head, which several Pokedexes tell us belongs to its "dead mother." That's already a pretty depressi𝔉ng backstory, but players have wondered for years: what is beneath the skull?
, and so the baby in its pou🍸ch is actually a juvenile Cubone. But we may never know. After all, you can leave two Cubone at the Day Care, but when you hatch the egg, there's already a skull on your new Pokemon. Is the female Cubone you're given back the one you left behind..𝔉.?
6 Is Dusclops Bigger On The Inside? ꦿ
The Pokedex of Pokemon Ruby says that the inside of Dusclops' body "is like a bla🐻ck hole". Anything it absorbs goes inside its hollow body... but nothing comes out. So where do they go?
This question is a physician's worst nightmare. Is it actually a black hole contained by a Pokemon's ph🌠ysical form? Is it like ? Where does the energy actu𝔍ally go? If you cut a Dusclops, does it not bleed? So many questions, and we're not entirely sure that the answer is worth the price to our sanity.
5 🅺 What Is Mimikyu Made Of?
Pikachu's copycat, , has been simultaneously tugging at our heartstrings and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:freaking us out a little with its weird obsession in the anime. But one detail in🦩 the Ultra Moon Pokedex says that when one trainer saw what was under its disguise, they "went home and died."
Did they simply die of fright at the sight of them, or is something else going on? It's never explained. Maybe whatever 𒉰it's made of is toxic to humans, or maybe it has 🌠psychic abilities that we don't know about it. One thing's for certain — don't look under the cloth!
4 ꦆ How Did Magikarp Evolve Before Trainers? 💜
How does Magikarp even evolve — by pretty much all accounts, it's largely usel💞ess. Emerald's Pokedex tells us that its "swimming muscles are weak" even though it's a fish; Crystal's calls it "pathetic"; and in Diamond's it outrꩲight states that "no one knows why it has managed to survive." And yet it goes on to become one of the strongest Pokemon.
You have to wonder if Magikarp ever evolved before a trainer took pity on it. Was Gyarados a pleasant surprise that took the battling world by storm? Or did Maജgikarp get less effective in the wild after it was largely𓆏 domesticated? Why does a fish flounder in water?
3 🔥 Does Yvetal Herald The End Of The Universe?
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Yvetal is a legendary Pokemon and thus, sort of a god, so it gets a bit of a pass. But, in the Pokedex entry from Y, it says that when it dies, "it ab🌄sorbs the l𝐆ife energy of every living thing". This is easy enough to understand, but open-ended enough to be concerningly ambiguous.
It's a legendary Pokemon, so in theory, there is only one. What happens if the trainer who tames it has an unfortunate accident? Is there a limit on Yvetal's reach? Will it kill everyone within a certain radius, or is this how the world ends in the ꦡPokemon universe?
2 🍒 What Does Drowzee Do Wit🔥h Dreams?
According to the Pokedex entry from Emerald, D꧟rowzee will "eat your dream through your nostrils." This is why sometimes your nose will itch while you're asleep. We have a lot of questions we don't want answered about how that works, but was does it do with the dreams?
According to Alpha Sapphire, Munna also "eats the dreams of people and Pokémon," and quite a few Pokemon 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:can learn the move Dream Eater. Which just begs the question — w🧜hy? What are they hoarding them for? Should we be sleeping in tinfoil masks?
1 ✱ Why Do Zweilous Fight Their Own Heads?
One question a lot of people have about Pokemon with more than one head is how many brains they have; are they a system like coral, or does one brain control the whole body? 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Zweilous answers the question where they are concerned — according to the Pok𝔉edex entry in Omega Ruby, the two heads have a food-eating contest, and "whichever head eats more than the other gets to be the leader."
But why not✱ work together? Do they have two of every organ or just two brains? Do they share a stomach, and if so how do you determine which head has eat𝓡en more? Is it a daily contest, or does one head luck out forevermore?
