Pokemon Unite is far from done adding new monsters to its roster and the next addition appears to have been overtly teased via the game's official Twitter account.

In a year dominated by Pokemon news surrounding Snap and the upcoming Diamond and Pearl remakes, Unite has been unexpectedly stealing a lot of headlines. The MOBA game is the biggest step outside of Pokemon's comfort zone the franchise's game creators have taken for a while, even employing the help of Tencent to make it happen.

Unite is now available on Switch and mobile and its roster continues to grow. A handful of Pokemon have been added to the roster since launch including Blissey, Gardevoir, and Blastoise who you can♈ now d♈ress up as a firefighter. Sylveon was the most re🦩cent addit🎃ion, bringing the curtain down on previously announced new arrivals.

A big deal is usually made when a new Pokemon is about to make its Unite debut, which is why a post on the game's official Twitter account took its players by surprise today. The image attached to the post is prepping players for Halloween, showing off spooky new holowear for Lucario and Zeraora. An interesting picture that is made even more interesting by a non-Unite Pokemon's presence right there, plain as day.

It's an unexpected one too, and probably not the next Pokemon most players thought they would see in Unite. Greedent, the gen eight normal-type Pokemon that evolves from Skwovet. That likely means Skwovet will start Unite matches when you select Greedent as it will evolve mid-match once you reach a certain level. While not confirmed by The Pokemon Company or Tencent, it's assumed Greedent will be a defender once it is officially added to the roster.

There is one other potential clue as to who else might join Greedent in Unite hidden in the Halloween artwork. Off to the right in the background are jack-o-lanterns carved to look like Rowlet and Gourgeist, not to mention Zubat silhouettes behind the Pokemon. Rowlet's addition in the near future would certainly make sense as it has already been revealed the grass-type will be a starter Pokemon in Legends: Arceus. A chance for some cross-promotion in preparation for the launch of Arceus in early 2022, perhaps. Decidueye was discovered via a rec♔ent Unite datamine, s♔o the eventual addition of Rowlet seems likely.
