Hide your kids, hide your wives, and hide your husbands because Charizard is killing everybody out here. Machamp, Gengar, Decidueye, and Garchomp were all big winners in this week’s balance patch, but none of them got a come up like Charizard. The changes to Charizard’s kit increase both its viability and its quality-of-life, making it a more powerful and fun Pokemon to play. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:If y🐟ou’ve h𝓰eard the news about Trevenant ♓and you’re looking for a better way to spend your Aeos Coins, take a look at Charizard 2.0.
Charizard has been in a terrible spot in Unite since launch. Its slow evolution curve makes it a pretty unhelpful lane partner, it doesn’t have a good way to secure objectives, and its moves never seem to have enough impact until late game. There are better options in the center lane, and stronger All-Rounders to choose from. This problem has only gotten worse with the introduction of Tsareena and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dragonite, two top-tier All-Rounders that excel in the jungle and outperform Charizard in almost every way. The only thing that makes Charizard remotely competitive is its fantastic Unite Move, Seismic Slam, which increases Charizards damage and self-healing tremendously. Unfortunately, being a flying Unite Move-battery just isn’t enough to stay competitive amoℱng the likes of Lucario, Dragonite, and Tsareena.
That’s all changed with Patch 1.4.1.2, aka the Trevenant Release Patch. Charizard got fou❀r major buffs that all work together to make it a faster, fiercer Pokemon. First, Charizard no longer slows down as much when it uses its basic attack. The slow has been reduced from 15 percent to five percent, which is almost imperceptible in practice. This helps Charizard chase enemies better and fight while retreating. It’s a noticeable buff to Char’s early lane phase before it evolves, but the big changes come at Level 5 and Level 7 when it gets its moves.
Both Flamethrower and Fire Blast can now be used while moving. This means that Charizard can continue to attack while chasing enemies, avoid taking damage better, and retreat far easier. Because of the slowing effect that Fire Blast provides, Charizard can escape dangerous situations while CCing aggressive enemies. On the flipside, it’s incredibly difficult to escape Charizard's attacks now, especially because it can trap you in a circle of fire that slows you down and burns you alive. The final buff of the patch increases the range of Seismic Slam by 20 percent, making it much easier to initiate team fights and snag enemies before they can flee.
These mobility improvements improve Charizard's viability massively. If you want to see it in action, check out this match from Pokemon Unite streamer Krashy. In his first game with the new Charizard, he manages to secure 14 kills with over 123,000 damage.
A skilled player can achieve some massive numbers with Charizard thanks to these mobility buffs, but it isn’t all about the scoreboard. Regardless of how these balance changes affect the competitive meta, there’s no denying that Charizard just feels♔ so much better to play now. Often buffs to things like damage values and health totals can have a huge impact on performance without necessarily💎 changing how it feels to play that character. In this case, the buffs to Charizard are immediately apparent when you play it. That’s going to impact how often Charizard gets picked way more than a simple damage increase would, which will ultimately lead to higher win rates and better competitive stats for the Pokemon. It’s not a dramatic rework in the same way as Garchomp’s new update, but it made a beloved character feel so much better to play.
