Who doesn't love Dratini? In a world of 894 , Dratini might just be🐓 the most loved of them all. It certainly has an argument for being the cutest. This adorable little dragon has been stealing hearts since Gen 1 and continues to be an extremely popular subject of fan art and message boards.

Hard-core Dratini fans pride themselves on knowing everything about the cutest little dragon in the Pokéverse. However, many newcomers have questions. So with that𝓡, here are a few things you need to know about Dratini.

10 🌟 E♑volution Level

Dratini evolves into Dragonair at level 30. Later, Dragonair will evolve into Dragonite, but not until level 55. As we would eventually find out, Dragon-types tend to evolve much later than other Pokémon. Dratini is no exception. When it reaches its final evolution at level 55, it lays claim to the highest evolution level out of any Pokémon introduced in Gen 1. Game Freak showed early on that it wo♎uld take forever to evolve your dragons.

9 ꦿ Its Pure Dragon Typing

Dratini was the first pure Dragon-type ever introduced into the Pokéverse. However, don't let this fool you into thinking that there were many more to come. Dratini's evolution, Dragonair, is the only other pure Dragon-type in Gen 1. This makes them the only Dragon-type evolutionary line in the entire Kanto region. The fact that Dratini's final evolution, Dragonite, is not pure dragon is noteworthy because a fully evolved pure Dragon-type would not be introduced Pokémon until Gen 5's Haxorus line.🥂 That's a total of 4 straight Gens to not have a single pure dragon as a final evolution.

8 ♚ Its Size Changes Are Nonsensical

Dratini is 5'11'' in length. It evolves up to Dragonair at 13'01'' in length. Then strangely enough, with its 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dragonite final evolution, it shrinks to only 7'03''. Sort of makes you wonder where all of the extra length goes. Dragonite is noticeably thicker (especially around the stomach area) t♏han the rest of the line. So, one possible explanation is that it might all g🅷et converted into weight. However, this is all speculation, since the Pokédex does not mention anything about it.

7 💞 Dratini Is A Rare Sight In The Pokéverse

You're not just going 🐬to find Dratini hanging out on every street corner. The Pokédex entries for B🍌lack, White, Black 2, and White 2, as well as X, and Y all call Dratini the "Mirage Pokémon." There's no doubt it's a rare sight.

Dratini's Pokédex entry for Moon, and the Gen 1 Nintendo Switch remakes, state that its ✱existence was confirmed after a fisherman's 10-hour struggle to pull one up out of the water. It goes on to say that the Pokémon was considered a myth for a very long time. That's right folks. We all have a lone fisherman to thank for Dratini's discovery.

6 🧜 It Is One ☂Of Only 3 Pokemon To Get The Marvel Scale Ability

The Marvel Scale Ability is an exceptionally rare one. It is only obtainable by 3 Pokémon: Milotic, Dratini, and Dragonair. Even D🃏ragonite is left out. Marvel Scale boosts the Defense stat of the Pokémon that has it by 50% if it is under a status condition (Poison, Burn, Paralysis) of any kind. This ability is useful not only because it makes your opponent think twice about trying a status move, but also because you can activate it yourself with either the Flame Orb or Toxic Orb item.

5 Its Placement Among The Legendarieꦐs In The Earlyꦆ Pokédex

Dratini's line is considered to be 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pseudo-Legendary. ꦡDespite not being a Legendary Pokémon, Dratini is surrounded in the Gen 1 Pokedex 🍸by Legendaries. Dratini is listed in the Pokedéx after the Legendary Birds of Gen 1: Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres and just before the Legendaries: Mewtwo and Mew.

In later generations, the Pokédex listings would change it to have the Pseudo Legendary Pokémon listed before the actual Legend🥂aries.

4 The Move Outrage Was Formerly Ex෴clusive To Dratini

The Move Outrage is an extremely powerful physical, Dragon-type, attack with 100% Accuracy. It was first introduced in Gen 2. Outrage inflicts damage on the opponent for 2-3 turns and then confuses them afterward. The opponent can only stop it if they happen to have an Item or Ability to cure it. In Gen 2, this move was exclusively learned by Drati♌tni, Dragonair, and Dragonite. This was later changed in Gen 3 when more Pokémon began to obtain the move, removing its exclusive status.

3 ꦑ ﷺ Its Pokédex Category Is Rather Unoriginal

Every Pokemon is assigned a specific category in the Pokedéx to help distinguish one species from another. Dratini is sᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤🎶⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚimply categorized as "Dragon".

Not only does 🐼its category simply restate Dratini's Type, but the category name is also shared by other much less obvious Pokémon such as Horsea,𒈔 Seadra, Kingdra, Salamence, and Goodra.

2 🐬 ꩵ Dratini's Movepool Is Surprisingly Deep

Despite it being a pure Dragon-type and not a Type Combination, and the first member of its evolutionary line, Dratini has a very deep pool of move options at it💎s disposal. It is capable of learning great damage dealing moves from the Dragon, Ice, Water, Fire, and Electric typings. Additionally, Dratini can obtain very good status moves such as🍎 Thunder Wave, Light Screen, Swagger, or Safeguard. There is no shortage to the moves this little dragon can pull off.

1 ಞ Dratini Has Yet To Appear In Gen 8

One big change to the Pokéverse that came with the release of Pokémon 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sword and Shield was the elimination of the National Pokédex. When this occurred, many of our favorite Pokemon were removed from those games. To the dismay of many, the Dratini family was one of those casualties. This is especially worth noting because the family had made an obtainable appearance of some kind in every region except for Hoenn. This means that Dratini and its family arꦗe absent for this first time since way back in Gen3. Please, Game Freak, bring the beloved little dragon back!
