Since their introduction in Generation VI (retcons aside), Fairy-types have proven themselve🤡s a force to be reckone🦂d with in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon series. They may seem sweet and adorable, but they can definitely throw down with the best of them when they need to. Even 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the most frightening of Dragon-types cower before them (sometimes).
Even so, there are some Fairy Pokémon that just don’t get the spotlight they deserve. To right this terrible wrong, we’re going to take a look at the underappreciated Spritzee. Here’s how to evolve it into Aromatisse, as well🔜 as some other interesting tidbits about it.
10 It Needs T𒆙o Hold The Sachet Item And Be Traded🅷 To Evolve
While some Pokémon must be evolved through 🌺obscure means 🌸like scoring three critical hits in one battle or turning your 3DS upside down๊, Sprꦇitzee’s evolution is relatively simple to trigger.
There’s no level requirement here. Instead, your Spritzee need only hold the Sachet item and be traded to another player. When it arrives in their game, it’ll promptly evolve into Aromatisse. As awkward as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:trade evolutions can be, it looks as though Game Freak aren’t ready to♑ let the concept♎ go just yet.
9 ♉ It Has A Very Unique Ability
Spritzee and Aromatisse’s s🤪tandard Ability is Healer, which is fairly run-of-the-mill for a support-inclined Fairy-type. It simply has a 30% chance of curing the status condition of an ally in doubles matches. Solid enough, but nothing spectacular. Its Hidden Ability, however, is a lot more interesting.
Aroma Veil protects both Spritzee/Aromatisse and their ally on the battlefield from effects that prevent them from choosing certain moves. Taunt, Disable, Cursed Body and the like are all nullified by it. These sorts of effects can be devastating against supportive Pokémon, so this can be a huge asset. Aroma Veil was the signature Ability of the evolution line until 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Sword & Shield, where it ๊was given to Milcery and Alcremie as their Hidden Abili𒀰ty too.
8 They W♈ere Used As Perfume By Royal Ladies Of The Past
Now, you’d probably think that the nobility of history were used to the finer things in life. Money can’t buy happiness, they say, but it can buy all manner of creature comforts. Would royal ladies ev𒊎er be short of the most expensive perfumes around? Probably not, right?
Well, that’s not the way the Pokédex tells it. As Pokémon Y reports, “in the past, rather than using perfume, royal ladies carried a Spritzee that would waft a fragrance they liked.” That seems a little like a ꦍcop-out to us, but as we’re about to see, there’s something very special indeed about this Pokémon’s fragrance.
7 Its Diet Changes The Scent It 💯Gives Off ꩵ
Couldn’t those royal ladies have afforded the finest, most luxurious bottles of perfume around? Presumably so, but it seems that none of them would have matched up with the smell of this odd little critter. What’s so special about eau de Spritzee, then? Again, the🐻 Pokédex has the answer.
As Pokémon Omega Ruby states, “it emits a scent that enraptures those who smell it. This fragrance changes depending on what it has eaten.”🔯 We’re not quite sure how these noble ladies went about choosing a scent, 🍸but let’s not get into the logistics of it all. This is some incredible stuff.
6 Aromatisse Has A Completely Unique Base Stat Total 📖
All of these odd little facts about the amazing power of Spritzee’s body odor are fascinating enough, but for competitive players, only one aspect of a Pokémon really matters: its stats. Spritzee is a mixed bag in th🗹is area, as we’ll see later, but there’s something important to note about Aromatisse here.
On evolving, it’s far from the strongest or 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:fastest Pokémon ar🌱ound in terms of base stats. It has high HP and avꦉerage-to-middling stats all around besides, but it also has a base stat total of 462. No other critter in the series shares this total, which is something unওique at least.
5 🀅 It’s O💦ne Of The Lightest Pokémon Ever
A simple glance at Spritzee is enough to tell you that it’s not exactly Wailord in terms of weight. However, you may be surprised by just how light th♓is teeny critter actually is.
At 1.1 lbs, Spritzee is the joint-fifth lightest Pokémon to date, tying with the likes of Ribombee and Applin. Aromatisse, at 34.2 lbs, isn’t such a lightweight, but it’s still darn small. Meanwhile, the gaseous likes of Gastly and Haunter, alo꧑ngside the miniscule and paper-thin Kartana a🌌nd others, are the lightest of all, weighing just 0.2 lbs!
4 𓄧 It Has Very Odd Stats All Around
Generally speaking, it’s quite easy to tell what a Pokémon is ‘supposed’ to do in battle just by looking at its base stats. Alakazam, fo🙈r instance, is a born special sweeper with wafer-thin defenses, so builds based around tanking hits or dealing physical damage are doomed to failure.
Spritzee and Aromatisse’s stats, as we’ve touched on, are very hit and miss. The line’s high HP and hilariously low Speed a♏re best suited ꧟to Trick Room strategies, but it doesn’t really have the offenses to make the best use of it and its defenses still leave a bit to be desired. It’s a little awkward in any potential role as a result.
3 It Gave Ash Some Major Trouble In T🥀he Anime
Stats-wise, Spritzee and Aromatise aren’t the most formidable critters around. By the same token, though, Pokémon’s Ash isn’t what you’d call a flawless trainer. Maybe it’s not 🅰so surprising that our hero had such issues defeating it.
In the episode “Fairy-type Trickery!,” Ash had his gym battle against Valerie. Her Spritzee s💟ets up a Trick Room and takes down the challenger’s Fletchind𒀰er, putting him in a rough situation. In true heck to the rules and all concept of logic, this is the anime fashion, though, Ash’s Hawlucha unleashes an X-Scissor that cuts through the Trick Room (because that’s a thing) and he takes yet another exciting and rather ridiculous win.
2 ⭕ ൩ It’s Actually Quite A Powerhouse In Little Cup
If you’re not familiar with Litt🍌le Cup, it’s a unique metagame where level 5 baby Pokémon (with shonky and difficult to calculate EV spreads) compete. Needless to say, the Eviolite item is excellent here on defensively oriented Pokémon, and Spritzee fits the bill perfectly.
It can൩ be a real immovable object here, thanks to its nice defenses (by Little Cup standards) being further boosted by the Eviolite. It can even boost itself and attempt a sweep, which would surely be the most adorable and ridiculous sweep you’ve ever seen in your life.
1 🍰 Aromatisse Has A Lot Of Sneaky Shenanigans Up Its Sweet-Scented Sleeves 🌼
Aromatisse is in a difficult situation where it doesn’t really have the stats to serve as a de🌠dicated wall, or as a strictly offensive Pokémon. It’s a solid supporter, though, with even more tricky options in its movepool than you might think.
Trick Room🦂 has the obvious game-changing potential, but how about Aromatherapy? Charm? Psyche Up? Helping Hand? Fake Tears? Ally Switch? After You? Disable? Wish? Even something like Misty Terrain or Misty Explosion? Heck, why not both? Coupled with its Hidden Ability, this innocent looking critter has the potential to use all kinds of disruptive strategies. Sneaky players will have a lot of fun with this underappreciated Pokémon.
