The eighth-generation 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon games, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sword and Shield, brought back the well-received regional form changes that were first introduced in Sun and Moon, giving older Pokémon like Weezing and Ponyta a new lease on life. One 𒁏of those given a makeover for the newest region was a creepy littl🍬e Ghost-type Pokémon called Yamask.
Doing away with the sarcophagus and Egyptian motifs, the new and improved Yamask took inspiration from western ruins such as stone henge, a trend that follows into the story and much of the architecture in Galar as well. As a stron🅘g defensive wall, Yamask and its evolution, Runerigus, are well worth a spot on any young trainers team, so long as they can find it.
10 ൩ Where To Find♔ It
Like many 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ghost-type Pokémon in Sword and Shield, a surefire place to find it is in the Watchtower Ruins section of the Wild Area, which is home to many Ghost-types such as Gastly and Duskull, though in this case, it is found in the Raid Den behind the tower itself. Yamask can also be found in Dusty Bowl and Giant's Mirror as would be expected, but also in Rolling Fields, the very first explorable area in the Wild Area. Yamask can ﷺalso be found alongside other desert-dwelling Pokémon in Route 6 as an overworld encounter, but not until later in the game.
9 Where To Find Unovan Yamas🐓k
Like all of the other Galarian forms in Sword and Shield, it is possible to find an NPC willing to trade for a Pokémon's original form if players don't have access to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Home. In Yamask's case, the NPC in question can be found inside the Ballonlea gym and requests a Galarian Yamask for his Unovan one. This is the only way to get a Cofagrigus without outside help in Sword and Shield🦄, as the roaming trades in the Isle of Armor don't include Yamask.
8 It Stole A Signature Move From Klefki ꧒
There is a growing trend among new Pokémon introduced that like to steal the signature moves of other Pokémon. This first started all the way back in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ruby and Sapphire, with Heracross losing its signature move Mega Horn to many others, including Rhydon. In Yamask's case, it learned a new move in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sun and Moon by stealing from a certain set of keys.
Klefki's once signature move, Crafty Shield, is a Protect alternative that only protecꦐts Pokémon from status moves, but works on both Pokémon if pꦿlayers in engaging in a double battle. While Klefki rarely ever uses this move, since its best use is as a Prankster Reflect/Light Screen user, it is also rarely used by other Pokémon who have since received this move.
7 🅷 Doesn't Learn Will-o-Wisp By Level Up
Although not all Ghost-type Pokémon learn Will-o-Wisp by level up, it is a fairly common move seen on Ghost-type Pokémon who 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:learn it via TM. While ꦏUnovan Yamask is one of those who do learn it by level upꦰ, the Galarian form strangely doesn't, instead learning Brutal Swing at the same level. While this could have something to do with its slightly different stats and origins, it is still able to learn Will-0-Wisp via TM like many other Pokémon.
6 The Unique Shiny Form ܫ
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:A Pokémon's shiny form is of༒ten seen as a unique spin on that Pokémon's design, particularly when it comes to newer Pokémon which have their coloration purposefully designed. One shiny that is unique for a whole different reason is Galarian Yamask and Runerigus, which is the only Galarian form that has the same shiny coloration as its original form, Cofarigus. Other Galarian forms have wildly different colorations to their original forms, mostly due to their different base colors, but Runerigus goes in the opposite direction and not changing what was already great to begin with.
5 The Only Location Specific🎃 Evolution
Back in the days of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Diamond and Pearl, location-specific evolutions were all the rage, with Eevee getting two in Leafeon and Glaceon, and both Magneton and Nospass both evolving inside Mt. Coronet. This was changed as the series went forward, since it would make no sense to keep reintroducing these locations in the world and have instead been replaced with evolution stones. As of Sword and Shield, Yamask holds the unique status as the only Pokémon with a location-specific evolution, as well as one of the more convoluted 🦹evolution requirements to date.
4 🅠 Stat Changes From The Unovan Form 🍸
Both Galarian and Unovan Yamask, as well ✨as Runerigus and Cofagrigus, have virtually identical stats, as is fairly common with regional forms. The only exception to this is their attack and special attack stats being swapped to make Runerigus have more physical attack power than Cofagrigus, who has a higher special attack.
This change not only helps to differentiate Runerigus from Cofagrigus, but also goes better with its 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ground-typing, as the best Ground-type moves, such as Earthquakeꦦ and Bulldozeꦿ, are physical attacks.
3 🤡 Strengths & Weaknesses
As Runerigus gained the Ground-typing, it also made changes to the types o♋f attacks it was strong and weak against, further dividing it from its original form. Adding the Ground-type to the Ghost-type gave Yamask and Runerigus three more weaknesses in Ice, Water, and Grass-type attacks alongside its weaknesses to Dark and Ghost-types. However, this change also gave it more resistances in Electric, Rock, and an increased Poison-type resistance, giving it both more strengths and weaknesses than its original forms.
2 The෴ Dragon Connectio♉n
Ghost-type Pokémon generally don't have a very deep movepool, with the bulk of their moves being Ghost, Dark, and Psychic-type attacks alongside status moves likওe Trick Room and Will-o-Wisp. Runerigus is special in this regard, since it is one of the only Ghost-type Pokémon that is able to learn Dragon-type attacks. Likely due to the fact that the carving that makes up Runerigus' body is that of a serpent or dragon, it is able to learn the Dragon-type attack Dragon Pulse and, by extension, is able to use Max Wyrmwind, one of the better Max moves.
1 🐻 Other Moves
While most of the differences between Cofagrigus and Runerigus' movepools are due to the addition of the Ground-typing, there are two except🍃ions to this that make it stand out even further from its original form. Runerigus is able to learn Taunt 🅷and Amnesia via TR, two moves that are often seen on other Ghost-type Pokémon, though Cofagrigus isn't able to learn either of them.
