To celebrate this, below are some of the most memorable female gym leaders in series history.
12 Whitney
Whitney is the normal-type leader of Goldenrod Gym in Gold and Silver. She is, without a doubt, one of the most feared gym leaders to ever grace the games. Her ไMilktank is a legend in the Pokemon community, gaini🤪ng her a level of respect that few gym leaders after her have received.
Despite her battle strategy, Whitney is shown to be a kind-hearted woman who loves her city. She can even be found s🀅hopping in the local dep🎃artment store in the remakes.
11 Fantina
Fantina is the fashionable ghost-typ🌌e gym leader of Hearthrome City. In each iteration of the series, she possesses powerful Pokemon such as Gengar and Drifblim. This helps to make her a fun fight in the game, especially since it forced players to strategize their teams to deal with ghost ab🗹ilities.
Fatina is also a popular competitor in the contest circuit and is eve🔴n seen being a judge for a contest in the anime.
10 Liza
Liza is the Psychic Gym Leader of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mossdeep🍨 City in Pokémon R🔯uby & Sapphire. She is unique in that she has a twin brother, Tate, who co-runs the gym with her. The two are rarely seen apart, but if battle🎀d alone they are said to easily😼 hold their own.
They’re also two of the youngest Gym Leaders in the series. They may not be particula♐rly tough, but Liza should be praised for making it as far as she got as a kid. The same goes for Tate, naturally, as the two cannot really be separated.
9 Elesa
Elesa is the Electric Gym Leader of Nimbasa City in Pokémon Black & White along with Pokémon Black 2 &am🧜p; White 2. She is a techno-listening, hip, stylish supermod꧟el who is also not bad at training Pokémon, which is why she is the fourth Gym Leader in Pokémon Black & White.
Part of the fun is seeing Elesa change between the sequels. In the second batch of games, she gets even more fashionable. In fact, her gym is turned into a catwalk to reflect her personality. It must be tough to balance modelinꦛg and Pokémon.
8 Roxie
Roxie is the Poison Gym Leader of Virbank City in Pokémon Black 2 & White 2. She is another Gym Leader that falls on the younger side of﷽ things, which should be applauded, but what makes Roxie more notable is her rockstar persona. Her Gym is even modeled after a🧸 music club.
Roxie's Poison Pokémon may even be a reference to the band called Poison, which would make her jamming even cooler. She is also shown to be extremely confident in the ✱anime and has an outgoing personality.
7 Opal
Opal is the Fairy Gym Leader of Ballonlea in Pokémon Sword & Shield. She is on the opposite end of the spectrum to Liza and Roxie in that she is quite old for a Gym Leader. The kind Opal even has it in her heart to take in and train 168澳洲幸运🍬5开奖网:th☂e troublesome Bede as the new gym leader.
Opal may be older than most trainers, but anyone who underestimates her is destined for a rude awakening as she can still kick major tail. To be an active trainer for as long as she has and still remains as battle-ready as ever is a testament to ⛦her generation and commitment.
6 Iris
Iris is the Dragon Gym Leader of Opelucid City in Pokémon White. In Pokémon Black, the Gym Leader was Drayden. In the anime version of these games, Iris168澳洲幸运5开奖网: actually beꦉcomes♚ Ash’s travel companion.
In the games, Iris is a fine opponent, but her character really shines in the anime. It’s here where fans get to see Iris' true spark, although not as much as some other girls. In Black and White๊ two, her design goes through a major overhaul that shows how she aged.
5 Janine
Janine is the Poison Gym Leader of Fuchsia City in 🐻Pokémon Gold & Silver. In-between the first two games she took over for her father Koga, which was a nice legacy touཧch that made the Kanto revisit so much fun and surprising for returning fans.
Janine is literally a ninja, so what could be more badass than that? In an idea🙈l world, Janine's number one Pokémon would assuredly be Greninja, even if it isn’t a Poison Type. The remakes of Blue and Red even had her alluding to the fact she was a leader in training,
4 Sabrina
Sabrina is the Psychic Gym Leader of Saffron City in Pokémon Blue & Red. In terms of female trainers with raw potential on their own, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sabrina is a force to reckoned with. She is a literal Psychic who never comes across as powerful in the games as she does in the anime. The latter is alm꧋ost unstoppable.
It’s only thanks to a few jokes from Haunter that Sabrina's focus is broken. The world of Pokémon, be it the games or anime, should be more worried about people like Sabrina. Especially since she is shown to possess the ability to turn people in🦩to dolls.
3 Clair
Clair is the Dragon Gym Leader of Blackthorn City i๊n Pokemon Gold & Silver. Clair might not be a psychic or a ninja, but in terms of domineering presence, she is right up there. Clair even took it upon herself to work with Silver, once the elite four was beaten by the player.
Clair was the first Gym Leader to exclusively implement Dragon Pokémon. As the final opponent before the Johto League, this made her a tough challenge to o🐠vercome. Powerful, confident, and cool as a cucumber; Cla🀅ir is great.
