Xerneas has been a part of the Pokemon franchise since Generation VI, being introduced as the Fairy-type Legendary in the Pokemon X & Y. Xerneas appears as a giant stag-like Pokemon with four enormous pairs of antlers, and can change its coloration based on two differing modes; Neutral and A▨ctive.

Xerneas is of course the titular Pokemon from Generation VI's Pokemon X game. Xerneas' entire design seems based on this concept, with its name believed to derive entirely from the letter 'X', whilst incorporating cervus which is the Latin for deer.
Xerneas an🐼tler's and body also give it a distinctive cross shape, with its pupils also containing small x's. Similarly, Yveltal seems entirel♊y based around the letter 'Y', but without the marked pupils.

Xerneas' signature move is Geomancy, which oddly enough is no🦂🦄t an attack move but a status one.
The user has to charge on the first turn, but then on the second, sharply raises its Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed by two. In the Pokemon TCG, it also allows you to choose two of your benched Pokémon a🃏nd bring energy cards into play. Xerneas is the only Po⛄kemon to both learn and use this move.
8 Xern🍸eas And Galarian Weezing Are Tied For Tallest Fairy-Type Pokemon
Xern🤪eas used to be the tallest Fairy-type around, untilඣ the release of Galarian Weezing in Pokemon Sword & Shield.
Both are believed to be around 9'10" (3 m) tall, but with Xerneas' still weighing a lot more than Weezing, with most of its height made up by that hollow ch𒀰imney top hat. Xerneas weighs in at 474 lbs (215 kg), while Galarian Weezing is only about 35.3 🐭lbs (16 kg).
7 Xerneas' Appearance Could Be Rooted In Many Mythologies 𒁃
Xerneas' design could be based within many mythologies, with its name possibly referring to the life-giving deity known as Cernunnos of Celtic mythology.
Other interpretations could be the Eikþyrnir of Norse mythology — a stag which resides in Valhalla with glowing horns — or the sacred deer of the Kasuga shrine of Buddhist mythology.
6 𝕴 It Gave Ken Sugimori Artist's Block ꦛ
Ken Sugim𝕴ori, one of the most famous members of the Pokemon design team, actually dealt with artist🐼's block when trying to come up with both Xerneas' and Yveltal's designs.
In the end, it was actually designer Yusuke Ohmura that🎃 stepped in to help them reach the appearance they have today, with Sugimori placing the finishing touches on them before completion. As of today, Sugimori states tꦚhat when looking back on Pokémon X and Y, these two always stand out for giving him such a hard time.
5 It Rested In The Form Of A Tree Before Its Reviv🐲al
Xerneas and Yveltal are known as the Pokémon of Life and Destruction respectively, but when resting lie dormant in Tree and Coܫcoon forms for hundreds of years. In Pokemon X 's Pokedex entry for Xerneas, it's stated that "Legends say it can share eternal life. It slept for a thousand years in the form of a tree before its revival."
Xerneas debut🍸ed in the Pokemon movie Diance and the Cocoon of Destruction, where it calmed down Yveltal and restored everything it had petrified, resulting in its return to its tree form. A similar series of events occurred i♓n the Pokemon Adventures Manga with Team Flare.
4 𒅌 It's Part Of The Aura Trio
The three main Pokemon of Generation VI's Legen♚dary trio are referred to as the 'Aura Trio,' and known as the Pokémon of Life, Destruction, and Order.
Yveltal steals life energy from other beings, whilst Xerneas can give life back, balancing one another out. Yveltal and Xerneas are known for these great battles with Zygarde, which is known to reverse both their auras with its ability Aura Break in order to stop them. It was thought we might see more of this trio's story, if we had ever seen the release of Pཧokeꦯmon Z, as fans call it.
3 🅰 Active and Neutral ⛦
Xerneas has two modes it can transform int🀅o — Neutꦯral and Active.
In Neutral Mode, its markings appear as pale blue and its antlers🌳 (and their embellishme🌼nts) are also varying shades of blue. In Active Mode, its markings and antlers turn pale gold, and it has multicolored adornments on both its horns and back.
Oddly, whilst in this Neutral Mode, it is the only Pokemon within the Pokémon Camp to not play with the Poke Toy, as it lacks animation. Similarly, in the Isle of Armor or Crown Tundra if whistled to, it will also give the trainer ൲no reaction.
2 ඣ Xerneas and Yveltal

Pokemon Trainer Y, or 'Yvonne,' in the Pokémon Adveꦚntures manga series actually 🐻caught a Xerneas, which she nicknamed 'Xerxer'.
Xerneas appeared in Vaniville Town battling Yveltal and causing destruction before both returned to their dormant forms. Team Flare sought out Xerneas' life-giving power for their ultimate weapon, and when it turned back to normal and looked for a human to capture it, they then attempted to t🔯ake it for themselves.
Luckily Y chose to take Xerneas for herself, with it being a part of her team until turning back into its tree form lat෴er on alongside Malva's cocooned Yveltal.
