The sixth generation of mainline Pokémon titles, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon X and Y, were an enormous step forward for the franchise, bein♌g the first truly 3D games as well as introducing many new elements that would become mainstays in 🏅the following years.

Mega Evolution and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:customizable player characters are just a few of a handful of new features that would make these games some of168澳洲幸运5开奖网: the most loved in the entire series. When it came to certain story elements and characters, however, players were left with ܫmore questions than an𒉰swers when the end credits finally rolled.

9 Lysa🧸ndre's Gyarados ☂

In both the games and the anime, Lysandre's Gyarados 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:is a force to be reckoned with even before it is revealed it can Mega Evoཧlve. One strange thing about his signature Pokémon, however, is its moveset in the final battle, knowing Aqua Tail, Earthquake,🍌 Iron Head and Outrage.

At first glance, this might not seem so strange, but Iron Head and Outrage weren't legitimately learnable moves for Gyarados in X and Y, and where only learnable by move tutor in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Black and White. Does this mean Lysandre 🧸comes from Unova, o⛄r at the very least, his Gyarados?

8 ⭕ 💧 Diantha's Film Roles

Diantha was introduced to the player as the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon League Champion of the Kalos region, as well as being a famous film star. While she is often recognized equally for either one 🗹of her career paths, players never actually see any of her film work.

Pokémon films were touched on in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 with the Pokéstar Studios, but it was a side activity that players didn't need to take part in aside from one forced event. Did she get her start in Unova? 🦹Is this when Lysandre got his interest in Kalos to begin with?

7 Why AZ Is So Tall? ꧟

AZ is an enigma for most of the sto🐎ry u▨ntil it is revealed late in the game that he is a 3000-year-old king who ended a global war by using weapons of mass destruction. One of the side effects of using this weapon was that he is now immortal, forced to wander through life until the end of time.

Although Junichi Masuda revealed in an i🐲nterview that his height is related to his immortality and the weapon, that still doesn't explain how that made him so tall. Humans only grow up until a certain age before they stop, an age that AZ would have hit around 2980 years ago.

6 🐈 AZ's Flo💖ette

The special Az Floette flying down among cherry blossoms in the Pokemon anime

AZ's Floette is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the backbone of the entire story, with its death during the war being the trigger for AZ to build the weapon that would revive his dead friend, as well as cause such destructive chaos that he caused the war to end overnight. It was also coded into the game to be obtainable, or at the very lea💯st, usable in one particular instance.

Although the sixth-generation has come and gone, this form is still not obtainable outside of cheat methods even though it was added into 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Sun and Moon in the same way as it was in X and Y.

5 The Gym Leader's Moves♎ets ꦯ

Pokémon X and Y receives a lot of criticism for how easy it is, and one big part of that is the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:gym leader's168澳洲幸运5开奖网: movesets later in the game. While its common for early gym leader's Po♍kémon to only have two or⛦ three moves, since this fits what the player character's Pokémon will have, it doesn't make any sense for this to be the case on the last gym leader as well.

Possibly the worst offender of this is Val🍸erie, whose Mawile only knows three moves a🎉nd doesn't have a single attack that benefits from the same type attack bonus, despite it being a Steel/Fairy-type.

4 Two Sets o📖f Starter Pokemon

Kanto, Johto, and Sinnoh are 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:geographical🍬ly very close to e💯ach other, which explains their constant crossovers in the mainline series. What isn't close to any of these regions, unsurprisingly, is Kalos, since it is based on France and Europe rather than the Japanes💖🅘e setting of Kanto, Johto, and Sinnoh.

With this in mind, it begs the question as to why the Kanto starters make an appearance as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:legitimate starter options in Kalos. After defeating the first gym, players are giving the option of a second starter Pokémon, which happens to have the ability to Mega Evolve. While this is⛎ a nice throwback, it would make much more sense for players to be given a non-starter that had this same potential.

3 The Kanto Connection 🎶

The Kanto starters aren't the only part of X and Y that is heavily grounded in Kanto. Santalune Forest, one of the first main areas players can explore, is identical in design and layout to the Viridian Forest from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Red and Blue, and even features a lot of the same Pokémon hiding there. Like the first generation games, players can find Weedle, Caterpie, and Pikachu as well as Spewpa and F🎐letchling, the regional equivalents of Caterpie and Pidgey.

While this is another nice throwback, it doesn't 𝔍make much sense in the context of its geographical location, unles🌌s this happens to be a man-made forest from someone who really likes Viridian Forest's layout.

2 The Lack 🗹Of Follow Up Title

Pokémon X and Y marks the first and only time in the entire series that there hasn't been a follow-up title to expand on the story. While it could be argued that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire could be those follow-ups, they are more remakes of the original generation three games with only slight references to X and Y.

This means, 🌞unlike past follow up games that exp🏅and on the story and characters, the generation six games leave many gaps that have yet to be filled.

1 🅰 Sky Battles 𝕴

One of the new mechanics introduced in X and Y were Sky Battles, unique trainer fights where players could only use Pokémon who were Flying-type or had the ability Levitate. The battlefield was also changed to remove the ground and⛎ show both Pokémon flying high up in the air.

This type of battle was only limited to Pokémon X and Y and hasn't returned in any following games, which is a shame considering it could have made for some more interesting battles, in particular with Totem battles in Pokémon Sun and Moon. This also begs the question 🎀of why Kalos is the only region that engages in this kind of battle when Flying-type Pokémon are so common in every region.
