After two cancellations over public health safety concerns, The Pok♍emon Company announced it would resume official in-person activities for its Champions𝓰hip Series in 2022.

In March of 2020, The Pokemon Company called off the Play! Poke📖mon Championship Series just as COVID-19 lockdowns began around the world. The first statement mentioned suspending its in-person activities until they could resume in 2021, but The Pokemon Company said it made the decision to𓆉 delay again in accordance with recommendations by global health authorities like the World Health Organization, Public Health England, and the Centers for Disease Control.

The Pokemon Company says it's back on schedule in 2022 though and is planning to return unless it is advised against proceeding closer to the event series. Next year's schedule includes a Championship season for its TCG, Pokemon video games, Pokken Tournament DX, and Pokemon Go.

The North American and European International Championships will reward players with Championship Points, and "hundreds of thousands of dollars in prizes." In North America, the US will host its world series event at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio on June 24 through 26. Europe's big even will call the Messe Frankfurt home in Frankfurt am Main, Germany on April 22 through 24. Regional Championships and special events will also resume in both divisions. For now, TPC has released its tentative schedule, which you can but may announce more at a later date.

To participate, TPC also notes all of its players, vendors, staff, and spectators must comply with its COVID-19 policy. That policy outlines that everyone attending an event with more than 300 people must be vaccinated, and evidence of that vaccine will be required. Participating venues must also follow local ordinances, require masks, follow sanitation guidelines, and keep all matches three feet apart. TPC's full policy is also .
