Valve's puzzle platformer Portal and its highly acclaimed sequel remains a major fixture in the imaginations of gamers, with many wanting another sequel or a VR port. But the studio hasn't announced anything in that vein to the disappointment of many, while it's not like Valve doesn't have VR chops since they've already released the excellent Half-Life: Alyx. But those wanting some Portal-like action can look forward to a VR title that is influenced by the physics puzzler. Pixel Framers' Warp Lab promises to bring "seamless 3D portal mechanics to VR for the very first time" (via ). The game offers the portals associated with Valve's Portal, but also includes combat and sandbox levels. The studio says that Warp Lab uses a "unique system that allows for player controlled portals that have true immersive depth". What that translates to is gameplay where players can pick up objects through the portal and poke through to scan ahead for enemies. The trailer below shows the mind-bending tricks that Portal players will be familiar with. The game features a campaign that stretches across ten levels. "They require a combination of puzzle solving, combat, and physics🦹 experimentation to complete," runs the official description on . Objectives can be approached in a variety of ways, however, offering re-play value, whil𝔍e each level contains a number of secrets that culminates in extra content at the end of the game.

There's also an Arena mode that lets players "take full advantage of portals in combat situations" and a physics sandbox mode that'll allow for "unlimited experimentation". The system requirements are not too demanding with⛎ Warp Lab only requiring Windows 7 or newer and a graphics card equivalent to🐎 a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 / AMD Radeon R9 290 or greater.

𝓀Warp Lab will support Meta Quest 2, Steam VR, Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality. The games launches Spring 2023🧸.
