Predator: Hunting Grounds is the game Predator fans have been waiting for. It stays true to the original movie and follows a similar premise. A group of soldiers called the Fireteam is sent to th💟e jungle on a mission. During the mission, they encounter the Predator who's hunting them for sport. It becomes a fight to see who'll ജsurvive. The humans have to work as a team using modern-day weapons, while the Predator works alone using advanced weapons like the Plasma Caster and Invisibility cloak. While the premise is great, the execution has been poor.
Players can choose whether they want to be the Predator, members of the Fireteam, or 🍰if they don't mind playing as either. Each choice has different average waiting times. Because most people want to play as the Predator, it has the longest waiting time, followed by the other two. It would be fine if the average waiting times were rea🐼listic, but they are extremely long. According to , some players have had to wait for around 20 minutes to get a game. Others have reported waiting times of over half an hour. These long times are with crossplay enabled, and could get even longer if it's disabled.
Apart from the long waiting times, the game has many flaws which give it an unfinished feel. The graphics aren't the best, and the Fireteam missions have been called boring and generic. Even the controller response can feel sticky at times𓃲. For a full-priced game, it also has very limited content including three maps and one game mode. All these could be overlooked if it delivered an enjoyable experience. As things stand, players are struggling ﷽to just get into the game.
Predator: Hunting Grounds has so much potential, and could be a fantastic game. However, it's let down by its technical and gameplay snafus. Hopefully, Illfonic will be able to fix their game and give fans th🍰e experience they de𓆏serve.
