Menolias Attack Pattern

Remember all those puzzles you solved and enemies you defeated using the weapons wielded by Menolias himself? It's almost like you'll have to pay the price for all that in this fight. Menolias has a♕ range of swift attacks, and it's important to know how they work if you want to have a chance in this fight:

Attack Name

Description

First Phase

Red Arrow

Prince Of Persia The Lost Crown Menolias Red Arrow Attack

This is the most common attack you'll see from Menolias. In it, he shoots a giant red arrow that either goes straight in your direction or curves through the ground. The arrow's trajectory ﷺdepends on the positioning of the attack.

If you see a brief target on Sargon, the arrow will go straight through your location. However, if Menolias shoots the arrow in the air, it'll reach the ground and curve back out.

Area Denial

Prince Of Persia The Lost Crown Menolias Star Shaped Item

You'll actively see Menolias jump through the battlefield and spawn a bunch of star-shaped items on it. These items will slowly start moving towar🌳d Sargo▨n, and if you hit any, you'll take damage.

However, you can use these items against Menolias by using the Dimensional Claw ability.

Yellow Arrows

Prince Of Persia The Lost Crown Menolias Yellow Arrow Attack

Sometimes, Menolias will jump in the air and shoot a bunch of yellow arrows toward Sargon in an arc shape. You can parry these ar🎃rows, and once parried, they have a chance of landin♏g back on Menolias.

In the second phase, he shoots two rounds of these arrows, and you'll have to parry them in quick succession.

Arrow Rain

Prince Of Persia The Lost Crown Menolias Arrow Rain

This attack triggers when Menolias reaches roughly 70 percent HP, and it's a signal of the phase change. After 💝a small cutscene, multipl🎶e arrows will start falling from the sky at random locations.

You'll only take damage if you hit the tip of these arrows, so use all your movement abilities to dodge as many as possible.

Second Phase

Counter Attack

Prince Of Persia The Lost Crown Menolias Yellow Aura Charging

In the second phase, Menolias can launch counter-attacks if you attack him at certain times. This happens if he's attacked when he's charging with a yellow aura or if he gets close to you when his Chakram is out.

This counterattack massively decreases your health temporarily, but it slowly goes back up. However, you'd still want to avoid triggering these as much as possible.

Chakram Attack

Prince Of Persia The Lost Crown Menolias Chakram

Just like you can throw your Chakram out and it returns to you, Menolias does the same to his Chakram in this attack. He throws it out to your location and it goes back through the🦄 ba🧔ttlefield at a height.

How To Beat Menolias

Prince Of Persia The Lost Crown Attacking Menolias In Air

When you fight Menolias for the first few times, you'll be thoroughly overwhelmed because of his constant movement and barrage of attacks. You can't win this fight in a traditional melee manner, so here are a few important tips you'll need:

  • It's important to use Menolias' attacks against him. This includes both the star-shaped projectiles and yellow arrows. When you hit him with these projectiles, not only does he take damage, but also gets launched in the air for a moment.
  • Don't try to chase after Menolias too much since you'll end up taking damage from a random attack more often than not. This is especially true for the second phase since he gets even more mobile.
  • For most bosses, you can attack them when you're close without thinking, but this isn't the case for Menolias because of his counters. It's quite important to have control over your attacks.
  • If you do manage to get close to the boss and start attacking him, make sure you use the airborne attack by pointing upward and using your sword. This will launch him in the air and prevent him from stopping your attacks for a good while.
  • Any Athra Surge that can keep the opponent stunned for longer, even if it deals less damage, is more useful in this fight.

After defeating Menolias, you'll acquire the Rashnu's Judgment Athra Surge, upgrade to your Chakram, and a Soma Tree Petal. You can also awaken the guardian nearby once the 𒐪fight is over.
