Project Xehanort now has a name: Kingdom Hearts Dark Road will release sometime this spring.

Square Enix has been teasing something online called 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Project Xehanort for a week now, going as far as to host a contest for folks to actually guess what the name of the game will be. This sounds like the sort of thing 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Kingdom Hearts fans would really get into as at this point the franchise really only makes sense to them. It’s almost as though Kingdom Hearts has its own language.

Anyway, we don’t know what the top guesses were as the . We do know what the game is actually going to be called though.

Project Xehanort is called Kingdom Hearts Dark Road.

Why Dark Road? As always, it’s a reference to earlier Kingdom Hearts games where the K♔eyblade Master must choose between a road to light or a road to darkness (or in Riku’s case, ). Xehanort, being the evil su🦩pervillain that he is, chose the road to darkness and unleashed all the horrible things that happened to Sora, Kairi, and Riku.

So far, all the art features a younger Xehanort, which is just one of the many incarnations that almost every central character has in Kingdom Hearts (and the reason why the overall story is so tangled it's virtually impossible for anyone--fan or not--to fully understand it). One suspects the game will explore Xehanort's descent in🐠to madness and his obsession with darkness and light being in perfect balance.

And as usual, it will probably produce more questions than it provides answers. But that’s just how Kingdom Hearts rolls.

We'll find out more about Kingdom Hearts Dark Roads sometime in February, according to a recent tweet. The game itself will release on iPhone and Android devices sometime this spring. Given how previous Kingdom Hearts games have donꦑe fairly well on mobile, we don't expect this one to be any different.
