Despite being a little over 14 years old and two generations behind, Sony has just updated the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:PlayStation 3🍌 firmware to version 4.87 so that it can run some of the latest Blu-Ray discs that are being released.🧔 I'm not sure how many people are currently buying physical media in 2020, but it's nice that Sony hasn't completely forgotten about its Cell powered device...even if you arbitrarily cannot play PS3 games on PS5.
Along with support for extra Blu-Rays (specific titles of which are not mentioned anywhere), firmware 4.87 also includes the hugely descriptive "minor security fix" update. Sony is really going all out with this firmware, bringing the PS3 up to speed with its predeces𒁏sors and making sure that gamers who have hung on to this all-in-one box are getting th🐷e most of their money.
All joking aside, I do wish that Sony could figure out some way to bring PS3 compatibility to the PS5. There would obviously need to be some form of emulation due to theꦦ PS3's unique console architecture, but this device isn't getting any younger. With components in the system quickly reaching their maximum ce🅘rtified operating life, we're going to soon see a ton of bricked PS3's and an entire library of titles lost to the annals of time.
As for anyone that is stil🍸l using a PS3 to play Blu-Rays, I imagine they never expected to have the thing connected for nearly two decades. There are certainly better Blu-Ray pl🦂ayers out in the market now, even putting aside how the PS5 has an included UHD Blu-Ray drive. The rise of streaming has also rendered most physical media redundant to many, so I can't see this update being useful to many.
