The PS2 will go down as one of the most successful systems of all time. It is still number one in terms of units sold. One of the reasons for its success could be due to its impressive library of RPGs. Because this system was so hot, it was expected that the PS3 would dominate the market as well.
It took some time but the PS3 eventually recovered fᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚrom a rough couple of years. Even in that recovery time it still didn’t produce as many consistent R♔PG classics as the PS2. From obscure titles no one played to major titles that didn’t get enough love, let’s remember some RPGs that did make it on the PS3.
8 Costume Quest ꩵ
Costume Quest is the perfect 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:game for Halloween. It’s not a scary ride like a lot of games recommended for the hoꦗliday but it imbues the childlike innocence excellently. It’s a turn-based RPG with button-timed combat. If players hit the right button while attacking or dodging, extra boosts will be put in place.
It’s a hilarious game, too, which not a lot of experiences get right. Costume Quest and💧 its sequel are well-worth the trips down trick-or-treat memory lane.
7 DeathSpank 🤡
DeathSpank is a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:top-down action RPG with tons of loot. Like Costume Quest, it too is very funny. Even the names were zany such as the first sequels, Thongs of Virtue. A literal thong is like the Holy Grail of gear in thi🔜s universe. The comedy is good but so is the action as it had a satisfying loop of killing monsters and collecting new equipment.
This series shone bright with three games in this generaꦕtion but there was never a fourth or port of them. With remasters being hot right now, hopefully, DeathSpank can make a ꦫcomeback.
6 ꦦ Dragon’s Crown
Dragon’s Crown is one of the games on here that did 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:get a remaster. However, despite great reviews, it didn’t get as much love on the PS3 and it🦄 certainly didn’t get enough of a boost when it was ported. Those that did play Dragon’s Crown know good of a 2D brawler RPG it is.
The game is technically pretty short, but the fun of it was g♛rouping up with friends and playing each stage on higher diffi♓culties in order to get better loot. It had a diverse class of characters, played well, and was a real jaw-dropper in the looks department.
5 Dungeܫon Siege 3
Dungeon Siege was primarily an RPG for computers until this reboot/sequel brought the series to consoles. The 🅺big marketing campaign behind it was that couch co-op was back as was aide♑d by a . It wasn’t the most in-depth game around.
The story was fine and it looked decent but not mind-blowing. The same was true for the combat. The reason why people did like it was because of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the aforementioned co-op. It was another fun dungeon crawler with a looter hook gamers could plꦬay with friends.
4 Eternal Sonat🅷a
Eternal Sonata is one of the weirdest RPGs of all time. That’s because it took place in the dreams of the famous real-world composer, Frédéric Chopin. While sick, he fantasizes about this fantastical world filled with magic. Is it really a dream or does he a൲ctually get transported into a new dimension?
That will not be spoiled here. Players should definitely check it out themselves as it holds up rather well thanks to the colorful art style and the traditional turn-based combat. It’s a shame it 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:never got a sequel or remaster.
3 The Lo꧃rd of the Rings: War In The Nort⛦h
There have 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:been many games based on 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Lord of the Rings. Some have been reviewed well but many of them like so many tie-in games should have been cast into Mount Doom. War in th𓆉e North falls somewhere in the middle. It had a lot of technical problems at launch with some glitches.
The combat turned it into a simple hack and slash RPG but that was fine conꦜsidering th𒆙is game had co-op. It was mindless fun for up to three people and it took place concurrently next to the movie plots.
2 🧔 Penny Arcade Adventures: On The Rain-Slick Precipic🌊e Of Darkness
Penny Arcade is most known for♛ creating comics or being the originators of the PAX conventions. But in 2008, they created their own game. Two episodes came out in that year with the humor one would expect from this franchise.
It was accomp✤anied by a good turn-based RPG with button timing. There was a long wait for the next episo🎃de which didn’t premiere until 2012 with the fourth episode not arriving until 2013. Unfortunately, those last two episodes didn’t come to consoles.
1 🌠 White Knight Chronicles 🌳
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:White Knight Chronicles was a classic fantasy RPG but with MMO-style combat. Players would fight monsters in the field, issuing commands that would play out automatically. They could continue to🌼 manually operate characters but it wasn’t necessary.
The coolest thing about🅠 this game and its sequel, also on PS3, was that the titular Whဣite Knight was kind of like a mech suit. This made for some cool, Kaiju-like battles. Reviews tended to find the story a bit cliche though.
