Whether one consults Metacritic or asks 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Persona fans themselves, it is clear Persona 5 is among the best in the franchise. Not to mention one of the most well-regarded JRPGs of the last decade. Is it good enough to replay this eighty to a ♏hundred-hour plus game again?

It can be hard for even the most diehard Sega and Atlus of fans to invest both the time and money given the fact that another big JRPG is on the horizon in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy VII Remake. To help one decide, this article will go over the best ♊and worst parts of this enhanced ad💛dition. Also, the protagonist will be addressed as Ren Amamiya, his canon name in the anime.

10 Best: New Charact𒊎ers

Two of the biggest additions to Persona 5 Royal are the two new characters: Kasumi Yoshizawa and Takuto Maruki. Kasumi is a younger stude꧅nt going to Shujin Academy who gets introduced fairly fast in the game.

In fact, both her ꩵand Takuto Maruki, a doctor sent in to examine the effects Suguru Kamoshida had on his students, appear after that firs𝓰t Palace closes. It takes a while for Kasumi to become a party member, but both feel right at home and aren't shoed in.

9 Worst: Goro Akechi ♏

Goro Akechi, on the ot𒁏h💮er hand, does feel jammed in. Instead of automatically building a relationship with him throughout the original's encounters, players must now go on hangout sessions.

Getting to know more about him might sound appealing, perhaps, to newcomers, but knowing what comes of him later, well, it's hard to buy this new facade that was added to Royal. It’s hard to explain why without sp✱oilers so let’s just move on for now.

8 🌳 Best: A New Term

Without spoiling anything, the original game ends in December for all intents in purposes. If players meet a certain qualification this time around, a third semester will be unlocked. This does make sense given what ha⛎ppens after this in the original game.

That is to say, there was already room for the game’s𝓰 narrative to grow. How this happens is best left as a mystery for now. Let's just say that the inclusion was clever and, along with the new char🍸acters, is the most noteworthy thing about this expansion.

7 🌠 Worst: Save Data Does Not Carꦡry Over

Unfortunately, it takes a 𒐪long time to get to this new season. Even if one speeds through old story bits, it will be about forty hours, on the low end, to get here. This is made all the worse for old players that already invested hundreds of hours just a few years ago.

It would have been nice if save data could be carried over. Instead, Persona 5 data can be used to get a few items along with 50,000 in cash. While that is a nice chunk at the beginning of the🀅 game, ♔it does not compare to an actual import.

6 💟 Best: The Music

Nothing is changed with the music, except for a few new tracks. That said, critiquing this game without talking about the music would be a real shame. It is among the best this series, including Shin Megami Tensei, has to offer.

This soundtrack rocks and adds to the game's already overwhelming amount 🐽of style that makes it stand out from its competitors and predecessors. In another area of the sound department, it should also be noted that the new voice work for the dub, like for Kasumi and Takuto, is also great.

5 ཧ Worst: Pacing ♔

Royal adds a lot of quality of life enhancements that improve Persona 5. While loads and transitions are marginally faster, that still does not help with the overall pace of the game. Now, it should be said that spending time wit🦂h Ryuji, Ann, Morgana, and the rest of the Phantom Thieves, 🌺along with Ren's other associates, is an amazing experience.

There is no denying that there is also a lot of fat to the game that could have easily been trimmed though. Did Persona 5 need to be eighty to a hund🌊red hours? No, and the new events, 🍎while good, only make said fat that much more gristly.

4 🐟 ♚Best: New Locations

Besides the new characters, there are also new locations in Tokyo to explore. Kichijoji, for example, is a new hub filled with shops like a clothing st🐎ore that ca🎃n now take in sooty clothes so one doesn't have to waste time at the laundromat.

There are also hangout locations like the Jazz bar and Darts/Billiards club. While those are the biggest examples, other locations such as the aquarium also appe🌊ar for confidant missions.

3 Worst: Thieves Den ⛄

The Thieves Den is a way for players to spend a new type of currency to unlock cinematics and art, like the new game’s box. This 🅺is done in a physical location separate from the main game that play🔥ers have to warp to after loading a save file.

As cool as it is to unlock new conte𝕴nt, having it be a physical area,🥀 even one with mini-games, feels unnecessary.

2 ♊ Best: Art Still Pops

Like the soundtrack, the art of this game does indeed pop. Persona 5 oozes personality, and the same holds true for Royal. Yes, even with the newly added 4K support♉ on PS4 Pro, the actual graphics don't look that much better.

In fact, in some ways, Persona 5 Royal does look dated. That's why the style of everything was so important in the original to sort of mask the fact that this project started on the PS3. In that regard, Royal does a good job.

1 Wor🤡st: No Switch Suppo🥃rt

Given that Royal will be released on a system that already has Persona 5 and that s🍸ave data cannot be directly transferred over, it makes the idea of replaying the camౠpaign less appealing for old fans.

While most of the new content is worth it, it will take a while to access them. Also releasing Royal on the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Nintendo Switch, or even the Xbox One, would have introduced the license to new players who don’t own a PS4. It’s a weird note to gripe about, but considering Joker is in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, what gives?
