I've had a PS5 for a little over three years. In that time, it has hard crashed more than any other console I've owned in my three decades on this planet. My N64, GameCube, Wii, Wii U, PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and myriad Nintendo handhelds all worked as intended, with few exceptions. On the rare occasions that my PS4 crashed, it was because of a technical issue with a game, not the hardware. Right now, though, my PS5 turns off, without fail, about an hour into a session regardless of what game I'm playing.
I had this issue last year. At first it seemed to be game-related. While playing 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 16 in graphics mode, the game repeatedly crashed, so I switched to performance and the problem seemed to go away. But, later on in the year, I got this hard crash issue again while playing 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Spider-Man 2. Now it was crashing once an hour, and the issue was affecting other games, too. But not all of my games, which was confusing. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Baldur's Gate 3 ran fine for hours on end, while 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Star Wars Jedi: Survivor would crash earlier, just 30 minutes i𓆉nto a session.
I tried all the firmware fixes, and eventually turned to a hardware solution: opening up the PS5 and seeing what was going on in there. Turned out there was a ton of dust and fluff in the interior fan. 🔯Once I cleaned that out, it started working as normal.
Fast-forward to last week. After skating by without issues for four months, the problem came back worse than ever. Now, everything is crashing. Baldur's Gate 3, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, an upcoming game that I'm playing for review, they all get at most an hour before the PS5 shuts off. You might be thinking, 'Time to clean your PS5 again.' I thought so, too, so I got a cloth rag, removed the exterior plates, and… found that the interior fan was still spotless from my previous clean.

If your games aren🅺't running as well as they usedꦰ to, don't be afraid to take a look under the hood.
So, now I'm back to the various fixes I tried last time. I've unplugged it, let it sit for five minutes, then turned it back on. Still crashes. I only have one outlet near the PS5, so I used an extension cord to see if a different outlet would work better. Still crashes. I've restored the console to default settings. Still crashes.
At this point, I have two options left. I can back my saves up to the cloud, wipe the PS5's memory, and see if the issues still persist. But, like I said, I'm in the middle of a review and I’m not eager to waste precious time deleting the game and reinstalling it. Especially when, if this goes like my previous fixes, I'll sit down to play the game again and be staring at a blank screen within the hour. Unfortunately, I need to do it because it's quicker than sending it into Sony for a repair, which is the only other recourse I have left.
As someone who writes about games, this is like needing to get your laptop or phone fixed. It's not something I can just go without most of the time. My PS5 is where I've been playing most of the games I've been writing about this year. A laptop is an apt comparison because, as consoles have become more like PCs, this kind of issue seems more common. The PS5 is a bigger, more complicated piece of tech than any of the previous consoles I've owned, and that seems to be reflected in how difficult this issue has been to fix.

Fine, I'll Upgrade My PS5 Storage Space For Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
