It's almost Christmas, and that means most developers are winding down operations for their holiday break. Things at Double Fine Productions are no different with Tim Schaefer giving us an update on where 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Psychonauts 2 stands after a tumultuous year.
It's only good news. Psychonauts 2 is done. At least, in the sense that it can be played from start to finish. It's still got a bunch of bugs that need to bﷺe iro൩ned out, but December marks the final month that any new content will be added to the game.
Schaefer revealed in the 2020 recap that Milestone 14 meant that anything that isn't already in the game isn't going to be "unless there's a really serious 🔴discussion on it." All the essentials are there, such as levels, cutscenes, and important game mechanics, but there were a few things that were left on the drawing board.
One example was a tramway that apparently wasn't fully completed. The idea here was to replace that with a simple slide in order to get Rasputin to where he needs to be in the 🎐level. It's a simple and quick change that isn't going to change the game all tha𓃲t much but will make sure it actually ships out on time.
And ever since Double Fine was purchased 💛by Microsoft last summer, Schaefer is certainly under some pressure to get the game out in 2021 as promised, especially 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:after delaying twice already. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Cyberpunk 2077's cautionary tale is probably relieving much of that pressure, but still, backers have waited a long time to get their hands on this game, which star𒁏ted development way back in 2013.
However, Schaefer refuses to crunch. His own experience crunching for Psychonauts 1 taught him how terrible the practice of crunch can be anওd it's a noble thing not to force that on his own co-workers.
When Double Fine reconvenes in January, it'll be all about polishing Psychonauts 2 until it shines. If everything goes according to ✃plan, we might be in for a spring release.
