Psychonauts 2 has been delayed until 2020.

This will likely come as sad news for Psychonauts fans. After being purchased by Xbox Game Studios in June, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Double Fine Productions has announced that their sequel to the 🤡2005 cult c🥂lassic will be delayed until next year.

While this may come as a disappointment to many, there is a bit of good news: despite the affiliation with Microsoft, Psychonauts 2 will still release on PlayStation 4⛎ in additi📖on to Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux.

Psychonauts 2 was initially announced way back in 2015 after a successful fundraising campaign on Fig gave Double Fine over $3.8 million towards development costs with further funding provided through more tradit♑ional investments. Initially set to be published by Starbreeze Studios, Microsoft’s Xbox Games Studios bought the ♛publishing rights in a surprise announcement last June.

The purchase is likely not associated with the delay, though. Psychonauts 2 was initially s🍎cheduled to release in 2018, but it got pushed back to 2019 at the end of 2017. With the latest delay, it’s most likely that Double Fine is looking to polishing the game for its eventual ✅release.

"We’re now targeting next year for release,” wrote Dou⛦ble Fine in their . “We know it’s always disappointing when you have 🗹to wait a bit longer, but we also know that you are an amazing, supportive bunch, who - just like us - want the game to be as good as possible. So we’re hopeful you’ll understand! <3"

It’s not like we don’t have updates on Psychonaut 2’s progress. This year’s E3 brought us the first gameplay trailer to showcase some of the new levels and what might be the story’s main villain. It all looks very slick and exactly the sort of follow-up that Psychonauts fans are looking for.

Game director Tim Schaefer even got to sit down with Jack Black to showcase more of Psychonauts 2’s gameplay in an interview that lasted an hour.

We should also point out that game delays aren’t always due to technical issues. Sometimes, it has to do with marketing and a desire to release a potential blockbuster during a time without too much competition. That could be what’s happening here, especially if Psychonauts 2 avoids some of the larger blockbusters coming in 2020 such as Cyberpunk 2077.
