PUBG Mobile is hos💜ting a tournament with a $600,000 prize pool and tons of in-game loot foꦚr participants.
PUBG corporation partnered with Tencent, the Chinese gaming company, in order to hold this worldwide tournament for PUBG Mobile. They’re calling it the “” since in order to register for the tournament you (or your friend) must hav🌺e at least 1,000 followers on social media. That includes Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, and various other region-specific social media platforms.
Which is basically the plot of a Black Mirror epi🅰sode, but we’ll overlook that terrifying little detail for now.
Once you’ve got your 1,000 followers, you then need to make a team of 4 and start fighting in PUBG Mobile. And b♕efore you start getting ideas of internet celebrity by winning this tournament, registration is already closed and the qualifiers have already been completed.
The first regional finals will be held in Kiev, Ukraine, and will feature ﷺthe top 40 teams from the European region. Other regional finals, such as North America, South America, Japan/Korea, China, and the entire rest of Asia/Australia/South Pacific, will have their regional finals in the coming months.
Winning⭕ teams from each region will then move on to the grand finals, along with a pair of invited teams that will likely also be selected based on social media presence. T♎he final 8 teams will duke it out in Dubai to become the world champion.
Top prize is $300,000, wi🧔th second place getting $100,000, and third getting $50,000. There are more cash prizes as you go down the line, and participants can also win tons of in-game loot as well.
It’s clear that PUBG is trying to encourage its esports presence in the face of falling PC and console sales. Just about the only thing that’s growing for PUBG is their mobile platform, which has a huge following in China. Mobile gaming far outstrips consoles and PCs combined, making it a huge moneymaker for both PUBG and their Chinese affiliate Tencent.
