Here💃's how to get into the vast area of Tangaroa in Raft, navigate its streets, and fix the emergency bridge.

You have to worry about the dangers of the ocean, along with trying to keep yourself fed and hydrated. Gathering supplies and building up your base is the only way to ensure you don't end up failing in your quest to meet up with other humans.

Updated May 13, 2024 by Jack Pierik: Raft is a prime example of entropy; time is an unstoppable force, it doesn't care that a shark is chomping away at your foundation, or that your food and water levels have gotten dangerously low. Don't despair, though; if you plan accordingly, ration your supplies, and use the resources you've gathered responsibly, the endless ocean will start to feel like home. In this update, we're giving you a few tips about how to deal with sharks when you're playing alone, how rain is your best friend, and the optimal time to eat your food.

18 Prevent Taking Damage By Interrupting The Shark's Attack Animation

A first-person view of a player wielding a wooden spear towards an approaching shark.

As scary as the sharks can be in Raft, they are thankfully quite predictable; they have an attack pattern you can manipulate to your advantage. If you're playing solo, or your friends ditched you to get supplies or explore an island, you still have a fighting chance.

Even if you only have a wooden spear, with a bit of practice, you'll be able to fend off sharks without taking any damage. All you have to do is time the thrust of your spear right when the shark starts to charge. If you hit the shark right before it hits you, it will swim away for a moment before it tries to bite you again.

17 Rai꧙n Counts As Fresh Water

A player watering their young, green banana sapling in a crop patch.

While it doesn't make much sense that rain water can't be collected in Raft, that doesn't mean the occasional storm can't be useful. Think about farming and crop patches, for example; knowing that rain will water your crops will cause you to waste less boiled water, which can instead be used to restore hydration.

Although, if you're planning on becoming a green-thumbed, oceanic farmer, you'll still have to worry about those pesky seagulls, so make sure you're keeping an eye out and crafting some scarecrows when you can.

16 ꦆ Only Eat Or Drink When You Really Need To

A player floating past a small, rocky, green island with a few tropical trees.

It can be a bit stressful watching your food and water levels slowly but surely dwindle away when you first start out. It's important to remember, however, that eating or drinking too early, or in other words, topping yourself off unnecessarily, will really bite you in the long run.

Once you get your hands on some fresh drinking water, and a r꧙oasted beetroot or two, wait until your hydration and satiation levels are at least half drained, so that you can stretch the value of these consumables as much as possible.

15 Collect All The Wood ൲

Raft Wood

Wood is one of the most important aspects of Raft. You need it to build, expand, cook, or even purify water, so it's easy to just go through a huge amount of this resource before you even notice it's gone!

Once you have gone through the beginning stages of the game, then you'll find that wood may not be the most used resource. But before you get to that stage, break barrels, loot islands, and grab as much wood as you possibly can.

14 Prioritize The Hammer And Spear 🌌

Raft spear and hammer

While you really need to focus on getting all the toolsꦿ you can, some are a little bit more important than others. Particularly, the hammer and the spear. Ultimately, the spear will save your life and your raft on more occasions than you realize. It allows you to get rid of those pesky sharks, giving you a little bit of me🦂at too.

As for the hammer, you can then go on rebuilding what that shark ends up destroying! It's a particularly useful tool to have as soon as you start the game, but focus on the spear. After all, it's better to have a dead shark than have to fix most of your raft.

13 Pick Up As Much As You Can 🦹

Raft Collecting Resources

When it comes to playing Raft, resources are the most important aspect you need to look out for if you want to survive and thrive. Therefore,🍎 you really need to focus on picking up as much as you possibly can when sailing the open seas.

Throw your sickle as high and as far as you can, and try to time it so that you'll collect more than one resource from the water at one time; It's a skill you definitely have to master, but is one you will be much better off for learning.

This is especially important if you 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:want to make it to Caravan Town.

12 Find The Ra🦋dio

Raft Radio

The only way to really progress the story of the game is by following the trash pile in the water. The trash will lead players to islands, and eventually, help them find the radio. The radio is a tool that needs 🐲to be🃏 used to start finding bigger islands and other humans in the game.

To ensure you are on the right path place a streamer on your boat and always ensure you are sailing in the direction it's pointing.

11 Prepare For Enemies 🌌♔

Bear

From the very start of the game, the shark will be chasing after your raft. While he isn't much of a threat with proper expansion, he will need to be fought off throughout the game. In addition, there are several islands that you'll come across that are just waiting to take a bite out of you.

To ensure that the raft is properly defended, you should start stocking up on spears early on; there are all kinds of difficult enemies that you'll encounter, so you might as well make sure you're extra prepared.

10 Know Your Hook 𒅌

Hook

The very second the game loads, you will be placed on a four-square raft with a single hook in your inventory. The hook is what ဣyou will need to use to gather the trash around you.

T♕her🤪e are two ways to gather trash with the hook, landing directly on top of the object or waiting until it is in your path and reeling in. By mastering the hook, you can make the most out of your first hour of gameplay.

9 ⛎ Expand Your Raft

You will need to expand your raft quickly to offer yourself protection and make room for needed tools. You will get a game over in no time if you don't add on to your raft.
