The developers of Rage 2 say that loading screeജns will be a thing of the past in their upcoming sequel.
Bethesda surprised literall💖y everyone when they revealed a trailer for a sequel to Rage, the 2011 open-world shooter that n🍌ever really delivered the whole op🌊en-world thing. There were plenty of things wrong with Rage thaꦬt made it an average game at best (least of all being an ending that did nothing to tie up its flimsy plot), but easily the worst was just how disjointed the w𓄧hole thing felt.
There were driving elements, aꦕnd open world elements, and shooting elements, but they never came together in a seamless whole. There were always distinct zones that separated everything so it felt like you were playing a sort of mishmasꦫh of games all thrown in the same disc that they forgot to write an ending for.
So when we all got a look at that E3 trailer, we were flabbergasted. This wa🐬s a game that nobody asked for a sequel, and yet now we’re getting a sequ🌠el. Sure. Whatever.

Only th𓆏is time it’s not being done by id Software. This time the developers are Avalanche Studios, the same folks who made Just Cause and the critically acclaimed movie spinoff game, Mad Max.
Speaking to PlayStation Magazine for their July issue, Tim Willits at Avalanche revealed that the sequel won’t have the same problems as the original. For starters, the🌠re won’t be any loading screens.
“We had ✅the megatexture technology, and we had the open world, but it was really kind of two different things,” Willits said. “It was the wasteland, and you then loaded another level, and then you were in your first෴-person combat. Well, that’s all gone now. You’re just in the game. Everything is seamless, and together, and you can engage in combat the way you want. The promise of Rage is delivered in Rage 2.”
That’s all well and🥂 good, but we’re still left wondering just where exactly is the hook? For its era, Rage presented us with quite a꧙ lot of cool and interesting technology, and even though it didn’t quitဣe deliver on all of it, it was enough to get people excited. With Rage 2 we’re all left wondering just why we shou🅺ld give it a second try in a world where open-world shooters are a dime a dozen.
