168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sonic Unleashed takes a somewhat different approach to the standard boss fights from the series. The daytime bosses are on-rails encounters where you run towards one of Eggman's creations, whilst the Werehog bosses are brawler-style fights.

Another complicating factor is🐷 that there are technically two versions of Sonic Unleashed (one for SD consoles and another for HD consoles), and some of the bosses are handled slightly different between them. For the most part, the HD versions tend to operate better but there are a few cases where the SD boss fight is actually superior to the HD version due to the difference in mechanics.

9 ꦦ Dark ꦆMoray

Dark Moray on the Wii

Dark Moray is the Holoska boss fight you face 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:as the Werehog, and it's certainly an intimidating foe from a visual standpoint. The strategy is to break the panels creating the shield, then to jump onto the platform to fight it properly.

The main downside to this boss is its lack of mobility. It's large enough to sweep you off the platform but its ice breath and frost orbs are pretty easy to avoid, so it can feel like not much of a challenge to fight.

8 Eg📖g Be🎉etle

This is the first boss of the game and is thus designed to be easy for newcomers, but that can be a double-edged sword because it's possible to beat this boss within the first minute in the HD version of the game.

All you need to do is keep boosting and you'll constantly chain hits together that will rinse through Eggman's health bar. This fight lasts longer in the SD version but only because you can't just spam Eggman with boost attacks until you win.

7 Egg Devil Ray 💟 🦂

Sonic boosting towards the Egg Devil Ray

Another daytime boss, the Egg Devil Ray is armed with several laser weapons which can initially seem imposing, but once you realize this boss is also weak to constant boost attacks, it again feels 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a bit too easy.

Thankfully it does change up a bit when it goes to a side-on perspective and starts firing the lasers at you in various formations, but that may only happen once before you end up defeating this boss (it's more common in the SD version of Unleashed).

6 🃏 Dark Guardian

The Dark Guardian's intro sequence in Sonic Unleashed

The Dark Guardian defends the entrance to Shamar's Temple of Gaia. In the HD version of the game, this boss can only be defeated by pushing some stones into the right location so that he can't be revived by the temple's magic, whilst the SD version is a straight-up brawl.

There's also the odd QTE where you can deal more damage to him, but the main issue with this boss is that it can be rather short because the Werehog is pretty strong by this point.

5 𓂃 🃏 Egg Dragoon

The Werehog fighting the Egg Dragoon

Not only is this the last Werehog fight in the game, it's also the only time you fight Eggman whilst in this state. The spectacle alone is impressive because the fight takes place as you're falling far beneath the surface of the planet.

However, it's not a particularly challenging boss regardless of the version you play, even though 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:it's the set-up to the game's final boss. The SD versiꦇon can take slightly more ♛punishment, but both of them feel a tad lacking given the overall situation at hand.

4 Egg Lanc♛er

Close-up of the Egg Lancer

The Egg Lancer is the last of the daytime boss fights and combines the efforts of the previous two encounters like it, whilst the arena has been altered to be more interesting. The looping path changes so you're running along cliffs and jumping off old temple ruins to try and damage Eggman.

It also helps that this fight lasts longer compared to some of the other bosses, although the QTEs can feel artificially difficult because you instantly die if you fail them, which is less fun than just dodging re✃gular attac♔ks.

3 𓆉 Dark Gaia𝄹 Phoenix

Dark Gaia Phoenix restored after the boss battle

This is the first of the Werehog boss fights but it isn't inherently evil; you're fighting to help the phoenix 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:come back to the good side after Dark Gaia's corruption.

You can only attack the phoenix after dampening it with water from nearby barrels, at which point you let loose with your attacks until Sonic lifts the phoenix up and slams it onto the ground. Note that it's possible to do this multiple times in the SD version if you complete the appropriate QTEs.

2 Dark Gaia

Dark Gaia beneath the planet's surface

Dark Gaia is one of the weirder-looking final bosses in a Sonic game, and the way you fight it differs slightly depending on the version you're playing.

Both versions require Chip (as the Gaia Colossus) to neutralise Dark Gaia enough so that Sonic can attack its eyes, but whereas the SD version does this via a game of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Punch-Out (which is short but satisfying), the HD version requires that you slowly advance whilst avoiding Dark Gaia's attacks, which can get a bit tedious since you have to do it three times.

1 🅷 Perfect Dark Gaia

The Gaia Colossus prepares to fight Perfect Dark Gaia

Both versions of Unleashed put you in control of Super Sonic for this fight, but again with differing playsty🉐les.

The HD version arguably feels more climactic because it's both you and Chip fighting Dark Gaia together - although fighting the various tentacles and ending on a QTE sequence may feel less rewarding than simply flying right into Dark Gaia's eyes, as happens in the SD version. Thankfully, it does add a fair bit of challenge to the fight, which is what you need in a final boss.
