After a prologue that acts as a tutorial for the game's traversal mechanics, combat, and boss battles, Ratchet will find himself in a new dimension 🏅on the planet Corson V without Clank by his side. Clank is off having his own adventure, and throughout the game we'll catch up with him and Rivet, but for now, Ratchet is on his own.
Joining The Resistance
The first person you'll meet is Ms. Zurkon, who will be your one stop shop for weaponry throughout the game. You won't be able to buy very much from her right now, but the basic weapons are all you'll need for Corson V anyway. She'll come after the end of a fairly linꦏear route as y🙈ou enter Corson V. After meeting her and watching Rivet and Clank fly away, you'll be sent to Club Nefarious, which is down a nearby path. You'll see a glowing red sign with Nefarious' face on if you walk away from Ms. Zurkon towards some steps.
Club Nefarious
At Club Nefarious, you'll meet this dimension's version of Skidd McMarx - that's Phantom. You'll see him as you make your way through the club, as a cutscene starts once you get past the statue. Follow him out of the club as he leaves, fighting any enemies as you go. After the swinging across the first gap, bounce up to the raised platform then immediately turn around and hover jump around the back of the building you've just run past - this is where the first Gold Bolt is. You won't have fullꦇy upgraded hover jumps yet, so it may be tricky, but there's a rift to help. If you can't reach it, come back and hit it later; it's just outside Club Nefarious, so it's easy to find.
Rift back and return to Phant🧔om. At the end of the path, he'll stop at a crank bolt switch, but youꦕ can't use this until you defeat all the robots in the area. The switch activates a bounce pad, which you can use to spring up and jump off the walls.
Aft🌺er following him for a short section, you'll end up in a fight with two large robots, but not quite large enough to count as a boss battle. Walk over to the blue door, and Phantom will give you the glove for your Phantom Dash. Use it to zip through the door. After this, there's a short platforming section that acts as a tutorial for the jumping Phantom Dash and wallrun.
Get Up To The Rooftop
Phantom asks you to get up to the rooftops to take down the blimp, but this time, you have to make your own way rather than follow him. Swing, jump, take out the robot, and wallrun to the next platform. Go around the corner to the right, then wallrun and bounce up the two levels in the next area. There are robots to fight here, but if you wallrun away from the top level, you can skip them. After wallrunning and swinging the gap, you'll meet Ms. Zurkon again, standing next to♌ Raritanium. Buy/upgrade weapons, making sure to have at least one weapon that covers a wide area, then take the elevator to the right of her. This takes you to the Nefarious Day Spa, where you'll battle the most enemies yet. For the most part, just keep dashing, jumping, and dodging, while using are area weapons you have. Rift🔴 up to the raised area for a better vantage point, but you'll need to fight off the bots up here too.
There are crates with health in them scattered around, and watch out for the pools of hot oil. Once you get down to the last few, s🦩tart targeting them with your best weapons.
Nefarious Tower
After defeating this group of bots, Phantom will give you Glit🅺ch, who will help you get into Nefarious Tower. Use the bolt crank to raise up a grind rail, then grind down.
The only problem is that a Nefarious Juggernaut is defending it. Use the dash whenever you're standing in a red circle, as this is where its bombs are going to fall. Watch for its chest turning orange too - this means it's about to fire its beam. Double jump over or𓆏 dash through this beam to avoid taking damage.
As you weaken the Juggernaut, it will take you through various dimensions, but its tactics remain the same so don't worry about that. Any area weapons, like the Shatter Bomb 𝔉or the Mr. Fungal, will be great here, as well as peppering the Juggernaut's big frame with bullets. Eventually, it will rift you back to the tower, and once you've taken it out, you'll be all set to enter.
Glitch Puzzle
Well, almost. The security console is broken, so you'll need to plug in and take control of Glitch in order to gain access. Glitch needs to make her way through the wiring and shoot any viruses she sees. Follow your way around the path, shooting at the pink barriers in the way. Go through and take out the small viruses, before shooting the two big red lumps around the corner - these are the ones Glitch needs to k💎ill, so use R1 for a more powerful shot. After that, shoot the next pink barrier and continue onwards, shooting the next two red ones as you push forward. That just leaves one. To get this one, climb up the walls and fire your rockets once the final lump comes into view. The weaker it gets, the more mini viruses it will send out, so be careful of that.
Go into the Tower and watch the rest of the planet play 𝔉out in a cutscene. Next up, you'll be headed to Sargasso as y🧸ou take control of Rivet and Clank.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart - Search The Factory
This is an optional side quest you can complete at any time on Corson V, although you'll need the glove from Phantom to make it really worthwhile. Head around the corner from Ms. Zurkon's and climb up the building using the Mag Surface, then continue around, fighting off enemies then rifting across the gap, jumping the wall, and turning the bolt to open the door to the factory. Inside, there's the second Golden Bolt. Inside the first room of the factory, you need to ride the box around to the raised pla♛tform with the wall jump, then used these jumps to reach the top. From here, climb up to the next platform andꦯ onto the highest conveyor belt. Run across it to reach the Golden Bolt.
Get back to this podium and travel through to the next room of the factory. Here, you need to ride a box around to the blue box in the crane, and use this to climb to the next platform. From here, you can jump across to the exit. This will take you to the train station; fight off the enemies here and jump down the tube at the end - this will see you grab Corson V's Spybot.
Sweeping Up
Corson V is a more linear planet than most, as you are still learning the ropes of the game. Because of that, there's a decent chunk of it that you won't get to see while doing the main story, and that includes a Gold Bolt and the Pocket Dimension which includes the armour.
First, the Golden Bolt. If you return to Corson V, you should go straight ahead from your landing position, double jump the gap, and wallrun to the end. The third Golden Bolt is tucked away around here.
Corson V's only Pocket Dimension is near that third Golden Bolt, on the next platform down. Jump down and continue around the corner to find the Dimension 22-54-97. Jump on the parade balloons in here until your reach the end and find Corson V's armour piece.
