Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is one of the most acclaimed games in the series, ranking amongst the best games c♋u♈rrently available on the PlayStation 5. In typical Ratchet & Clank style, it is full to the brim with Easter eggs too, referencing a range of different games, films and even🅘 books, including several references to other Sony properties.
Most of these Easter eggs should be fairly easy to 𓃲recognize, but some have an additio🍌nal layer of depth to them that makes them incredibly easy to overlook. Here are cool easter eggs in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
Updated On August 9, 2021, By Jason Wojnar: Ratchet & Clank has an extremely unique aesthetic. However, all these easter eggs referencing other games still manage to fit in. It is a testament to the writing and visuals to see direct homages and nods to completely different games blend in seemlessly The idea of jumping dimensions makes these easter eggs fit in the continuity. We decided to update this list and add some Easter Eggs that directly reference other popular games.
12 Drek Is Still A Sheep ๊
Drek the sheep is in Zurkie's Bar and clearly living a tortured existence as a helpless farm animal. Fans of the series who played the 2016 remake of the debut entry will recognize Drek as the main villain of that game. During the course of the story, he gets transformed into a sheep by Dr. Nefarious.
In Rift Apart we see he has yet to get out of his predicament. He also kind of resembles the sheep from Spyro the Dragon, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:another Insomniac Games franchise.
11 Ratchet And Clank: All 4 One Is An Arcade Game In Zurkie's Bar
An arcade cabinet in Zurkie's Bar is displaying footage from the 🎀168澳洲幸运5开奖网:cooperative-focused spin-off All 4 One. You can clearly see the four protagonists of the game on the screen, and the cabinet design features them as well🌸.
While far fro💛m the most beloved entry in the franchise, it is still a decent co-op experience and the nod is certainly cute. Ironically, being a PS3 game there is no way to 🌳play All 4 One on the PS5.
10 ﷺ Lorb References 🍒
The Lorbs side quest on Savali lets you listen to a series of audio logs packed with references to a number of different PlayStation franchises. They're not obvious at first, but on repeated listens it is fairly clear what each log is referring to, with the explorer Mags going into details about each dimension he encounters.
Some of the franchises referenced include Little Big Planet (9th entry), Knack (4th entry), Jak & Daxter (7th entry), and Sly Cooper (3rd entry). The idea that these dimensions all exist within the Ratchet & Clank universe is awesome, and it's a cool nod to some of Sony's classic work. Another Lorb entry potentially talks about Intelligence Cube, a long-forgotten PS1 game. This has yet to be confirmed, however.
9 Keyblade Weapon Skin 𝓀
Unlocking one of the game's Wrench Swap Packs allows you to equip different skins for your Hammer/Wrench. These include a fish, a pirates cutlass, and most importantly a weapon that looks suspiciously like the Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts.
It's even given a special Ratchet & Clank makeover to make sure it fits into the world of Rift Apart. It also slightly changes the fighting style both characters use when it is wielded.
8 🍒 RYNO 8 Objects
Upgrading the RYNO 8 lets you crush enemies using objects from other dimensions seen in the PlayStation library, although they'll disappear in the blink of an eye unless you use the game's photo mode. You'll be able to summon Sly Cooper, a Sawtooth from Horizon Zero Dawn, Fizzie from Sunset Overdrive and the Road Hogg from Uncharted 4, among many others.
The RYNO 8 is one of Rift Apart's strongest weapons, and seeing a load of nods to different gaming universes only makes it more appealing to use.
Items from other games are cool enough, but if you are really lucky the titular characters from Naughty Dog's Jak & Daxter series show up to help out.
7 Bolt Replacements ▨
Another one of the Gold Bolt cheats in Rift Apart gives you the ability to change the appearance of the bolts you'll collect during the game. There are four different options, each referencing a different gaming universe, further supporting the multi-dimensional nature of Rift Apart.
The four different bolt replacements are Overcharge Delirium XT (Sunset Overdrive), Orbs (God of War), Rupees (Legend of Zelda), and Coins (Super Mario Bros). You'll likely stick to the classic bolt design, but these are all a nice nod to some great series'.
6 Space Pir෴ates Of The Caribbean
Travelling to Ardolis will reward you with a pretty neat reference to Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. In a similar fashion to the swashbuckling Jack Sparrow, one of the robot pirates can be seen trying to get the guard dog on their side by offering it a bone. All with the aim of gaining the key necessary for❀ them to escape.
5 Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy Potted Plant
Insomniac Games developer in a tweet just after the game launched. During the boss𓆏 fight with Dr. Nefarious, a potted plant falls out of a portal on top of a Dinosaur.
This is a reference to a similar scene in the first Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy book, in which a pair of nuclear missiles turns into a whale and pot of flowers. It's a blink and you'll miss it moment, especially considering you'll be flying down some grind rails when it happens.
4 🍒 Protopet ꦐBillboard
There's a reference to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando that is incredibly hard to spot unless you know where to look. After the first boss fight, during the rift sequence that follows, a billboard depicting the Protopet's can be seen on the side of a building in Megalopolis.
These deceivingly cute creatures were a key part of Going Commando's plot, they're extremely violent and act as the games final boss. It seems that this didn't deter Megacorp from selling the fluffy creatures as pets after all.
3 Craigger⛦Bears
CraiggerBears are included in Rift Apart as a tribute to the late Craig Goodman, who passed away in 2019 and was responsible for much of the art design within the Ratchet & Clank games. Finding all of the CraiggerBears, there are nine in total, rewards you with the trophy 'UnBEARably Awesome.'
They're the hardest collectible to find in Rift Apart and don't show up on maps even after you equip the Map-O-Matic.
