168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart lead designer Mark Stuart has been making headlines today after he revealed 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a bunch of rejected names for Rivet - the female, alternate dimension version of the titular Ratchet - during his GDC talk earlier this month. However✅, it seems like Stuart hasn’t been giving crest where credit is due, as lead writer Sam Maggs has claimed that the lack of acknowledgment in Stuart’s talk means that her work is being “erased.”
In a Twitter thread posted earlier today, Maggsඣ describes ♔Stuart’s talk as “upsetting and frankly offensive” given that the writer was responsible for “a TON” of Rivet’s development but wasn’t mentioned once. Maggs goes on to explain that despite having worked on the game for a year and a half, she hasn’t been credited as a writer on the game despite “creating Rivet’s personality from scratch."
Maggs goes on to explain just how much influence she had on Rivet♎’s development and the effort it took to create the character we know and love today. She claims that she was responsible for nixing the name “Ratchette” and apparently “fought tooth and nail to stop Rivet from being cut from the game entirely.” Maggs explains that “Rivet was a team effort” and wants𓄧 to “acknowledge the whole team.”
More worryingly, Maggs lays pretty much all the blame on Stuart, claiming that the lead designer “consistently attempted to undermine me” and that he is now taking “unilateral credit for my work.” Stuart’s talk - published by - goes into a lot of detail about Rivet’s character development but refrꦗains from mentioning any other influences besides his own regarding key decisions and name changes.
Maggs also claims that she had a hand in the character’s design, explaining that she had to work extremely hard to “take the BOOBs and MAKEUP off Rivet.” The wri🙈ter apparently used the reaction to Sheila's redesign in Spyro Reignited Trilogy in emails as reason enough to significantly alter Rivet’s design. Thankfully, it seems like Maggs won out, but it’s pretty wild to imagine how Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart might have turned out had she not spoken up.
