While the Prince of Persia c🍎ommunity is likely still reeling from that announcement, there is a little bit of a silver lining. Ubisoft confirmed in a statement that the team behind The Lost Crown hadn't been let go and had instead been moved onto other projects, including one that's sure to excite a very stꦿarving fanbase.

Rayman Is Reportedly Getting A Remake From Ubisoft Milan

, one of the projects that Ubisoft alluded to is a Rayman remake, which is in development at Ubisoft Milan, the team that fans have wanted to be in charge of the vegetable thingamajig for a while now. Ubisoft Milan is, of course, the team behind Mario + Rabbids and who most recently had a hand in Rayman's return with the excellent Rayman in the Phantom Show expansion for Sp𓃲arks of Hope.

The unannounced Rayman remake is being developed under the name "Project Steambot", and it's being worked on primarily by Ubisoft Milan, but is now being joined by members of Ubisoft Montpellier. In a way, this is poetic considering Montpe🍷llier also developed the stellar Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends.

It's not specified which Rayman game is getting a remꦿake, but the title implies it's going to be the first one. A bit of an odd choi꧋ce considering Rayman 2 is right there.

There is a bit of bad news to come with the remake, however, as Insider Gaming also reported that Michel Ancel, the creator of Rayman, is going to be a consultant on the remake, raising concerns for some team members. Ancel left the gaming industry back in 2020 🍸after finding himself in hot water over allegations of "toxic leadership", which makes it🌺 a bit of a🗹 controversial choice.

Insider Gaming also reveals that around a "dozen" 𓂃developers from The Lost Crown have been moved over to the Rayman remake team, while others have been moved to work on the somehow-still-in-development Beyond Good & Evil 2 and the unannounced next Ghost Recon game.
