Playdead has made two amazing contributions to gaming that take a unique and amazing approach to story-telling without using a single word. Both 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:LIMBO and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:INSIDE are 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:puzzle platformers that haveꦫ you playout a story rather than have it told to you.
With Playdead recently announcing that they will be creating another game, attention has been back on their two previous indie projects. However, it brings up the question, which is the better game, LIMBO or 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:INSIDE? To help you make up your own mind, here are 5 qualities of each so you can♋ decide which is the better game,
10 INSIDE - Dystopian Se🐓tting 𒐪
INSIDE is set in a dystopian future where everyone is faceless and the powersᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ that be seem to have a stranglehold on everyone and everything. The world is filled with very little color and machines and wires are seen more frequently than humans.
Hu🍸man experimentation involving children that have either been kidnapped or brought in by willing parents are at the forefront of🎀 the world you inhabit. Children march along like braindead soldiers into test labs and every piece of the environment is ultimately a testing ground where everything is set up to go as planned.
9 🎃 LIMBO - Black and White Aesthetic
One of the most striking things about LIMBO is its art style. It is completely black and white with a thick film grain over everythꦯing. The game takes pl💦ace in a forest filled with shadow and an abandoned factory town all shrouded in darkness.
Everyone, including the main character, is made up of their silhouette and the white in their eyes, the rest is obscured by darkness and shadow. There is also very minimal music in the game, with little ominous 🐼buzzing coming in very infrequently. Each part of the game is designed to make you feel like you aren’t where you should be.
8 ♋ INSIDE - Wate🍬r Sections
Water is a very big part of INSIDE. Near the beginnin⛎g of the game, yo🍬u will find yourself in large bodies of water being stalked by a young pale girl with long hair. At one point you take control of a submarine which prevents the girl from approaching you.
A little later into the game, you are taken by the little girl with no option for escape. You are dragged to the bottom of thi💞s body of water that seemed at one point was part of the city and was lived in. While it seems she is bringing you to your doom, she is actually giving you the ability to breathe underwater.
7 🥀 LIMBO - Spider ꧑
In 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:LIMBO, there are very few characters outside of you, your sister, and some villagers who are all far too willing to see you die one of the many horrible deaths the game has to offer. However, there is one recurringꦚ character who you get well acquainted with, the spider.
The spider isn’t your typical house spider, instead, it towers over you with a body that is possibly four times the 🐓size of the poor boys. You spend most of the game running from it but there is 𒁃one instance where you are ensnared in its webs and it wraps you up for later snacking. Luckily, you make it out in piece but must hop around covered in the web until you fall down a hill and are released from the webs.
6 INSIDE - Orbs 💖
Hidden all throughout INSIDE are large metal orbꦉs that you d🧜eactivate by pulling out a spherical object from the middle. These are typically easy to find, usually found just off the beaten path with yellow wires leading the way.
As you find them you are presented with more puzzles that are reminiscent of the puzzles found throughout the rest of the game. When coming acr♎oss the final one you find a large room indicating all of the orbs you have deactivated with a final much larger orb that also needs to be deactivated.
5 🌠 LIMBO - Glowing Eggs ꦡ
Like in INSIDE, LIMBO also has 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:secret collectibles. However, unlike INSIDE, LIMBO’s collectibles, which are glowing eggs, are much harder to find and will require a 🍌lot more searching to get them all.
The origins and purpose of the eggs are unknown ♛but due to the glowing worms who at one point in the game attached to the boy’s head and reverse controls, some have speculated that the glowing eggs are destroyed to prevent the worms from controlling others. The only real prize for searching for each egg is an achievement after the credits roll.
4 🐓 INSIDE - Secret Ending ღ
As mentioned previously, there are hidden orbs hidden throughout INSIDE, if after collecting all of them, returning to the beginning of the game, and locating a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:secret underground bunker, you will find a door.
When you encounter this door, you must play a very specific sequence, the sequence is based on musical notes which are played w🐽hen disconnecting each orb. Once you have inputted the sequence the door will open and you will find a large comput꧙er, unplug it and the boy will collapse and the game will end.
3 ♚ LIMBO - Puzzles 🧸
When playing INSIDE, you will rarely find a puzzle that will stump you for more than a few minutes. INSIDE is much more focused on telling a story than trying to impede your progress with mind-melting puzzles.
LIMBO has a much bigger emphasis on puzzles. LIMBOs puzzles are not only more frequent but they are also much tougher and will require a good assessment of the environment in order to solve it. The last section with gravity shifting machines, in particular, is rather tough but feels very ♐satisfying to beat.
2 INSIDE - Stꦍory
INSIDE’s story is one of mind control, collective consciousness, and human experimentation. Whi𒁃le there are many theories about the game’s meaning, the most popular is that the young boy is sent into the ꩲfacility by design to activate the collective consciousness that is represented as a massive blob near the end of the game.
There is an exact replica of the game’s ending found near the end of the game and pictures of the blob at the start of the game.ꦫ The secret ending is supposed to be the young boy ending the program and in turn, shu𒁃tting himself down.
1 LIMBO - Minimal Story 🌺
While INSIDE’s story is vague and doesn’t easily give up answers, LIMBO’s story is shrouded in even more mystery with little to go off of. At the end of the game, you crash through glass and time slows, the impact and fall the boy experiences would have easily killed him at any other p𓄧oint of the game but he gets up and continues to walk forward.
He then finds a young girl who many assume to be his sister only for the game to end and start again from the very beginning again. The theory goes that the boy is in limbo and experiencing his death over and over again while trying to get back to his sister but nꦉever being able to do so.
