Rumors are circulating around Reddit about Rockstar Games’ rootin’ tootin’ cowboy simulator . Apparently, there is an alien-themed RDR2 DLC in the works, slated to be released around 🌳December 2019/January 2020.

Reddit user claims to have a friend who works as an environment artist at Rockstar. This friend says that Rockstar is working on a large story DLC for the open-world western game. This DLC is set to be focused on aliens, which have appeared in RDR2, briefly. 🌠Still, the game never showed players what the aliens looked like, only their spaces𓂃hips and other evidence of their presence.

RDR2 protagonist Arthur Morgan will . This might surprise players, since (spoiler alert for those who haven’t finished the game) Morgan dies of consumption like a Victorian orphan. If the leak is true, then it is likely that the DLC would be similar to the original Red Dead Redemption DLC Undead Nightmare, which is a zombie-themed game that is completely separate from the events of the main game and just draws on its characters and at🐼mosphere.

The rumor also states that a remake of the original Red Dead Redemption is in the works. This remake would not only be an update of the first game with the innovation of the second – the new gameplay changes and updated graphics – but also would retcon the game to recognize Arthur Morgan’s role in the prequel and create more continuity between the games, including new voice work from the main cast. The source says that the intention was for the remake to be released in May 2020 for the 10th anniversary of the game, but it will likely be pushe𝓀d back to December 2020/January 2021.

As usual, this leak should be taken with more than a grain of salt. Internet leaks happen often and pan out much less often. Even so, an alien-themed DLC wouldn’t be entirely far-fetched. Between Area 51 and Roswell, there is a strong asso🅘ciation between the American West and the extraterrestrial, so cowboys and aliens are not an unusual pairing. For now, it looks like we’ll just have to wait and see if the rumors are true or not.
