The world of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Red Dead Redemption 2 is full of secrets, side missions, and random strangers that you'll come across while riding around with the Van Der Linde Gang. One of the most bizarre activities included in this cowboy simulator is a side quest that has you searching across the vast wilderness for dinosaur bones. This can prove to be a tough task to complete as Rockstar is notorious for being very good atꦦ hiding things in their massive games.
To make your job as a cowboy paleontologist a whole lot easier, we scoured the entirety of Red Dead Redemption 2's map and found every single dinosaur bone. This guide will show you how to find them and what rewards you can expect to receive.
How To Start Searching For Dinosaur Bones
Before you start your search, you need to speak with a stranger named Deborah MacGuiness. She should appear on your map sometime after Chapter 2 of the story campaign begins.
Talking to her will start a side mission called A Test Of Faith, which has you find the dinosaur bones and then mail the coordinates of their locations to Deborah so she can continue her research. You can mail her these locations at a post office at any time.
Some of those bones can be hard to find even if you know where to look. If you're ever having trouble finding a bone, activate your Hunter Vision - which is done by clicking both thumbsticks of your controller - and yellow smoke should appear over the bone if it's nearby.
There are 30 dinosaur bones in total. 22 can be discovered during the regular story campaign, while the remaining 8 can only be found during the Epilogue. So if you want this side quest's rewards, you'll have to be patient.
The Heartlands Bones
Heartlands Northern Boundary
North of Valentine but just south of the Dakota River, you'll find this bone on a small cliff overlooking the water and the nearby train tracks.
Heartlands Abandoned Shack
East of Hani's Bethel and a little northwest of the O in New Hanover on the map, you should find a boarded-up shack. Search around that area for this fossil.
Heartlands Cliff Face
There's a wide rock wall located southwest of Valentine but north of the Dakota River. Use your Hunter Vision and you'll see that the fossil is embedded in the wall.
Heartlands Grassy Hill Bone
This bone can be found to the east of Flatneck Station. As you can guess from its name, it's on a grassy hill and looks like a rib cage.
Heartlands Oil Fields Bone
If you've come across an old oil derrick between the A and the R in Heartlands on the map, then you've pretty much found this one. Go underneath the derrick, climb down the ladder into the hole, and you'll see the bone.
Heartlands Southern Gorge Bone
Just a little southeast of the Oil Fields Bone, you'll find this bone lying on the ground.
Heartlands Dewberry Creek
Another giant ribcage can be found in this dried-out part of Dewberry Creek.
Scarlett Meadows Dewberry Creek
Head a little south of the L in Lemoyne and you should find some pointy ෴bones jutting out of the ground.
Roanoke Ridge Bones
Roanoke Kamassa River
On the west side of the Kamassa River, you'll need to scale some cliffs to reach this spot on the map.
Roanoke Ridge Van Horn
East of Butcher's Creek you can find this bone just lying on a hill out in the open.
Roanoke Ridge Valley Overlook
Head up the trail and you'll find this bone overlooking a cliff that's southeast of the first O in Roanoke Ridge.
Roanoke Ridge Overlook
You'll find this jawbone on top of another small cliff located on the border of New Hanover and Ambarino.
Grizzlies Bones
Grizzlies O'Creagh's Run Overlook
Another bone that requires you to do some climbing. It's in Grizzlies East just a little below the S in East.
This one's a bit more difficult to find as the cliff is pretty steep, so don't be surprised if you take a few tumbles trying to reach it. Be sure to use your Hunter's Vision to find the exact cliff with the bone.
Grizzlies Northern Boundary
There are three locations - Witches Cauldron, Fairvale Shanty, and The Loft - that are aligned in a triangular formation in the northern part of the Grizzlies East region in Ambarino. Right in the center of this triangle, you'll find the bone on a hill.
Grizzlies Calumet Ravine
This can be found slightly west of the I in Ambarino. It's embedded in the side of a rock wall.
Grizzlies Dakota River Ledge
Head northwest of Fort Wallace and across the Dakota River. Travel up the rocky hillside trail until you reach a cliff overlooking the river. Look over the cliff until you see a ledge with the bone on it. Jump down and record that bone's coordinates.
Grizzlies Rock Wall
This small, claw-like fossil is pretty well hidden. It's stuck in a rock wall north of Valentine and southwest of the D in Dakota River.
Cumberland Forest Bones
Cumberland Forest Bacchus Station
As the name suggests, this bone is found fairly close to Bacchus Station. Head there and then make your way up the steep rocks located below the S in Station on the map. Look for this pointy rock:
The bone should be right next to it.
Cumberland Forest Six Point Overlook
This fossil is sitting on the edge of a tree-covered cliff south of the C in Cumberland Forest on the map.
Big Valley Bones
Big Valley Northern Cave
Considering that this region of the map is a popular hot spot for hungry bears, it's usually not a good idea to go wandering into random caves. But to find this bone, you're going to need to venture into this cave located northwest of Wallace Station:
Thankfully, it doesn't seem like bears visit this cave often, so you should be able to head inside and find your bone without being eaten.
Big Valley Rocky Slope
This one is easy to find. Head along the trail until you reach a spot that's just a little southeast of the W in West Elizabeth on the map. You should find this spiny bone literally sitting in the middle of the road.
Big Valley Beryl's Dream Overlook
Head along the trail and you'll find this bone on a cliff that can be located on the map beneath the A and M in Beryl's Dream.
Hennigan's Stead Bones
Hennigan's Stead Pike's Basin
This bone is on an elevated section within Pike's Basin. To narrow it down, it's a little southwest of the first N in Hennigan's Stead on the map. You should see a rope bridge that looks like this:
If you see that bridge, you'll find the bone close to the rock wall.
Hennigan's Stead San Luis River
Ride along the San Luis River until you reach a spot that's south of the I and N in New Austin and just a little north of the A and N in San Luis River on the map. You should see the bones sticking out of the ground in front of the water.
Rio Bravo Bones
Rio Bravo Del Lobo Rock
If you continue to travel along the San Luis River, you'll eventually come across Rio Del Lobo Rock. Right next to the K in Rio Del Lobo Rock on the map, you'll find this bone.
Rio Bravo San Luis River
Beneath the B in Rio Bravo, you'll find this odd, antler-like bone.
Cholla Springs Bones
Cholla Springs Jorge's Gap
This bone is nestled comfortably between the A and U in New Austin.
Cholla Springs High Desert
Travel northwest of the Cholla Springs Jorge's Gap Bone until you reach the edge of this section of the map. The bone is stuck in the side of the rock wall west of Rattlesnake Hollow.
Gaptooth Ridge Bones
Gaptooth Ridge North Tumbleweed
This bone can be found between the D and G in Gaptooth Ridge.
Gaptooth Ridge South
The final bone is nice and easy to find as it's under the L in Tumbleweed.
Rewards For Finding Every Dinosaur Bone
You'll receive your rewards for this side quest when you begin mailing your coordinates to Deborah MacGuiness. Upon finding mailing the location of your first bone you'll earn yourself a Quartz Chunk, which can be used to make the Bear Claw Talisman. Once you've found 15 dinosaur bones, you'll get a Skull Statue, which doesn't do anything but can be sold for $75.
When you've finally mailed out the locations of all the dinosaur bones, you'll receive a letter from MacGuiness inviting you to come to her home to see what she's discovered. After a cutscene, you'll get the Jawbone Knife, which she claims is made from the jawbone of a Stegosaurus (it isn't.)
You'll also get to see the ancient dinosaur that she's constructed from all of the bones and...well, it's something you got to see for yourself.
