Control came out in August of 2019 and managed to be one of the best games of the year. It runs a unique line of being narratively dense while never sacrificing the fast-paced gameplay. Remedy's modern classic was recently re-released as Control:Ultimate Edition, which also made its way to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:PS5 and Xbox Series X.
Whether you are playing it for the first time or revisiting the new version, the following list❀ may help you avoid some painful mistakes, though it is difficult to make Control an unenjoyable experience. Remedy is currently working on two new games, and if either of them are as good as Control, then𒊎 the developer has a bright future.
10 ꦛ Staying In One Place ༺
Given modern shooter tropes, it is tempting to stay in one spot and try to shoot enemies from behind corners. This is a huge mistake. The game does not even a cover button, after all. Enemies drop health pickups, which is already a major indication that the game wants you to move around frantically while in combat. Staying still makes you a fish in a barrel for the Hiss.
9 🐟 Not Reading The Documents
Control has cutscenes, but they alone d♌o not reveal the whole story. Through documents lying around the Oldest House you learn more about the Federal Bureau of Control's operations and the characters. It is a great way to add world building without slowing down the main quest for those disinterested in the larger world. However, you'd be missing out on a significant portion of Control if you skipped out on these.
8 𝕴 Skipping Alan Wake
Several documents and hidden rooms reveal that Contro𓄧l and Alan Wake take place 𝐆in the same continuity. One of the DLC expansions, AWE, even has the two directly crossing over. With this in mind, it is highly recommended you play Alan Wake either before Control or before diving into the DLC. Unfortunately, this is not a reality for everyone, since not everyone is a part of the Xbox ecosystem or owns a PC. As exciting as this connection is, there is no word on whether it means a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:sequel to Alan Wake will be a reality soon.
7 ♐ ꦯ Playing On Graphics Mode
🐓On PS5 and Xbox Series X you have the option to play on one of two modes; graphics and performance. The former turns on ray traced reflections but runs at 30 frames per seไcond. The latter runs at a smooth 60 frames per second by sacrificing ray tracing. As beautiful as the upgraded lighting is, the gameplay is not nearly as smooth when compared to the performance mode. You definitely notice the difference between the two during combat.
6 🥂 ⛄Playing On Older Consoles
Back ༺in 2019 it wa꧙s not possible for many players to experience Control on anything other than a PS4 or Xbox One. The game barely runs on these older platforms.
Frame rate often slows down during combat and it is not rare to see the whole game stutter and momentarily freeze. The PS4 Pro and Xbox One X alleviate som🦋e problems, but not significantly. With the PS5 and Xbox Series X 🐲versions now available, you should abandon the older versions. If you do not have the new consoles yet, we recommend waiting.
5 🉐 Not Exploring 🐎
Control is like a triple A, 3D 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:metroidvania. It is more structured than other games in the genre, slowly opening up more areas as you progress through the story. Think about this when venturing into the Oldest House. Not exploring not only deprives you of various resources, but it also robs you of narrative goodies and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:easter eggs. Some of Control's most exciting moments are hidden in rooms off the ▨beaten path.
4 🎃 Relying Too Muc𝄹h On One Power
As you progress through the game you 𝔍progressively earn more powers. Even if you have a favorite, do not use it as a crutch. The game wants you to use all the tools at your disposal, and using only one of them puts you at a disadvantage. Launch sure is cool, but it won't get you out of every sticky situation. Sometimes you have to put up your shield to run out of a dangerous corner.
3 Not Watching The Vid🐓eo Fi🦄les
In addition to the written documents, there are also a ton of video file♊s you earn while playing. Skipping out on these makes you miss one of Control's most unique features. The way Remedy integrates live action footage into the game is a fascinating to behold. It does not get in the way of the gameplay or feel like a gimmick. Dr. Darling's presentations are a particular highlight.
2 ✤ 🎶 Ignoring Side Quests
Feel free to ignore the timed Bureau Alerts, but you definitely should pay attention to the proper side quests doled out periodically. A genera🍃l rule of thumb is to explore any side ⛎quest that is actually introduced using dialogue or a cutscene.
These do a lot to expand the w🦂orld and send you to locations you would otherwise miss. Some of the side quests are difficult too, making i💖t worthwhile for those looking for a challenge.
1 Hogging Moꩵds
Mods can be used eit♛her on weapons or directly on Jesse Faden. They upgrade one of any number of stats, from ammo consumption on weapons to health. You quickly amass a large number of them from enemies and boxes. You'll soon find your inventory full. Do not ignore when this happens. Deconstruct the ones you do not need to make space for more. If you don't, you very well might miss a valuable mod, running by without noticing you did not pick it up.
