Even against the tougher bioweapons, the shotgun is always a decent pick.
Luckily, the real 🦩stopping power in weapons comes through the Magnum, with extended barrel, and the Grenade Launcher. Most normal bioweapons drop with a single Magnum shot, whereas the Grenade launcher offers more versatility. Explosive rounds are good for crowd control, Flame rounds are good against any form of plant-based bioweapon, and Acid Rounds are great for bosses.
With a little practice, crafting ammunition will feel like second nature, and this does provide some great play value because players can choose to only craft certain ammunition on subsequent playthroughs.
